I've always kind of had trouble with sketching figures and getting them to come out the way I want, but I hope to remedy this ;) . Simply for the purpose of this thread I did a couple quick sketches, and was wondering if you could help point out the areas that need attention, and possibly add some suggestions. Also, if you could point me in the direction of somewhere I could go to get some drawing help, it would be greatly appreciated :D .

Well.. her back could use some attention, unless it's meant to be.. curved, like that? o_O;;
Also the position of the head on the neck is a bit odd. it might help to make her neck a whee bit longer on the left side.

Well the back does look kinda funny. The overall sketch looks really good, good body perportions. You could shade or just add more detail, but for a quick sketch, not too much to improve on.

I never try to make my characters in proportion. All of my characters are sterotypes, so they are either bulky, skinny, corpulent, or whatever. I really can't help you with the proportions of the female body because I'm not too good at making the famale body proportional either. People are always saying that my girls have big boobs... It's not that I like drawing girls with big boobs, but I draw anime chicks, what did they expect? Look at Narusegawa, Rei, Usagi, Belldandy or Mizuki. Name one anime girl that doesn't have big boobs.-_-

Lina Inverse is small chested, from slayers.

Anyway, Ragnarok, one thing no one else pointed out was the first head shot, the right eye is misplaced, where the head curves where the eyebrows are, the eyes should always be placed under that, not in the area... I've messed that up a few times myself, sometimes it will look good the way you've drawn it but flip it over, and it's way off...

the feet also, you seem to purposely cheat out on the feet and hands, which are always hard for people...

I suggest going somewhere, in public, where there is a bench, and just train yourself to wear sunglasses and sketch people, girls if that's what you wanna work on, and get them in motion, watch the way their bodies appear from diff. angles, whatever..the more you do such things the better you'll be at just knowing where and how to put what curve where etc...

they aren't bad by any means though, your sketches..

ahh, thank you :) .

Sometimes I don't see certain things until someone else points them out... even when they're painfully obvious XD

Yeah, for this purpose I was kinda cheating on the hands and feet, mainly because I wanted to focus on the body. With a lot of my drawings, I always make something too long or too short... like the legs, torso, chest, or arms, and it just pissed me off :D . But I won't stop trying!!!

:p

Ya what you might wanna try is that strange bubble techneque. You know the one where you draw oval shapes for all parts of the body...if thats what you did dont hurt me plese. But its krazy, and works wayyyy better than anyone thinks.
