I think it's bit of bizarre asking for rep and thanks BEFORE a link is being send.

Well, I do understand, that "thank you's" help to keep up an upload for a longer period of time and therefore they do make sense to me, but I don't understand what all these "rep points" are all about. Some uploaders really seem to get horny about them. Do they get high on them? Is it a krypotgraphic currency and, if yes, what can you buy with it? Or is it rather a psychic avatar for naricistic people who don't get enough attention in real life? A virtual kiss on the belly button maybe?

If reps are such valuable goods, wouldn't it be advisible to introduce mega or even giga reps? A normal rep for this and an ultra rep for that? Or would this cause a rep inflation? Is there an interest rate for reps and how many do you need to buy a pound of butter? Questions over questions, yet I never found a reasonable explanation about reps, neither in the forum-search here nor elsewhere.

Some uploaders even seem to care more about rep points than the music which they are uploading.
As a result I encounter more and more decline of sound quality, necligences in archival packaging and sloppiness in tagging.
Sure, if the only interest of an uploader lies in these rep points, why waste any time at anything else?
