Pretty good. It's darker than the first score, but JNH keeps the sense of magic and adventure (And the same themes) but with a bigger sense of drama, tragedy and terror. JNH also gives musical nods to the sound of the previous HP scores, especially Deathly Hallows (he uses taikos and Desplat's trademark sub bass). The CD presentation sounds definitely incomplete (I can tell there's a couple of missing cues from the clips). By the way, Watertower Music just uploaded the full score in Youtube on HD (audio is on 3042 kbps compared to the 1411 kbps from the FLAC rip).

FB1 wasn't complete, there were several alternates and cues from the movie that weren't on the Deluxe Edition. Curiously, checking the sheets, JNH used a couple of unreleased cues that weren't on the movie and reworked them on the second one. The Dumbledore theme is inspired by a part from the alternate end credits music from the first film.

I think they did. Becuase they said that Hedwig's theme plays during the Hogwarts scenes and the release only has it playing at the beginning. Yes, he did a better job since he expands the themes rather than regurgitating entire cues like he did with The Hunger Games (Although temp track might had a part on it).

I saw the movie last night! It was amazing and I can't wait to see it again! The score was great as well! It's much darker than the first one but the magic is still there and there are some great new themes for certain new characters and storylines. Some themes from the first movie are back (like Newt's adventure theme, the fantastic beasts theme/fanfare (over the main titles), the macusa theme, Jacob and queenie's love theme, the healing theme, the Grindelwald theme which is also expanded in this movie...). Hedwig's theme is also in the movie but only appears on the OST once. I am pretty sure that the second, longer hedwig's theme cue is slightly rearranged by JNH and was definitively re recorded for Beasts 2.

The OST is definitively incomplete so I really hope that a deluxe edition is released soon.

There are some great unreleased statements of Grindewald’s theme and the Jacob/Queenie theme definitely not on the album. It makes me hope we do get some sort of deluxe release, or at the very least an FYC album.

Yes! In general there is a lot of Grindelwald material missing, like when he says "for the greater good". The Jacob/Queenie music from London is missing as well + a few other statements using that theme. Some music from the scenes with Credence as well I think but I have to see the movie again to be sure what is missing.

The HP7 deluxe came out a month after the OST so maybe that could happen now as well.

Well that's very disappointing!!!! I don't understand why some new releases get deluxe editions/bonus tracks and others don't. Black Panther got a expanded album but not Doctor Strange and I much preferred Strange's score to Panther's!!!

If they had just added The Grindelwald in Paris, Grindelwald Rally, Queenie Arrives in Paris - Frensh Ministry of Magic and Jacob and Queenie, the OST would have been a way better presentation of the score. It would be easy to make a 25 min cd2 like they did for beasts 1, even without concert suites.

Thanks for the upload! After seeing the film again last night I am shocked at how many good cues were left off. It�s one of those scores that functions better with the film order as opposed to the ost presentation.
