ok i beat final fantasy 8 and in the end i saw sqall walkin thru a desert now im wondering is he lost there for ever trying to find his way back home. or will he die sooner or later?

It's to do with Time Compression. He got lost.

You didn't see the whole ending. There is way more to it than that.

don't ever ever ever ever press the reset button when you're watching the ending of ff8. i know you get excited and scared that something awful might happen and want to turn off the game, but please don't.

anyway, squall will not die. no one will die except for the villain. happy ending. no need to worry.

do you have a PS2? why don't you just play it there? or you could use psx converter and get all the movies from ff8, and copy it on your computer. easy enough. =)

You know that Tiamat monster in Ultemicia's castle? THe one that uses Dark Flare? You can draw Eden from that. That's how i got it. Cos i'm useless and can't even beat Bahamut. I suck :'(

those other3 have the 1 before te final weapon

back to topic at the end squall falls done and faints in the desert rinoa comes up screen goes black and then at the end of the credit movie thing the make out yeah happy ending!!!!!

from what i got from it... squalls lost in time compression but eventually finds his way back to where they said they would meet ==> The lighthouse...

there he sees Ulti give her powers to Edea and then gets drifting again, searching for his own time...
eventually he faints at the desert and gets sent with rinoa to the place they were supposed to meet...

don't know if i'm right :p but you gotta admit it takes some thinking to understand what happens to squall during the compression movies

one things for certain, he's back at garden and with rinoa at the end :p

time compression

they all have the same problem of getting back to the normal time, so they all wander. Rinoa finds squall because they decided where to meet, somehow they got drawn to eachother (could also be the rings)

from there on they get thrown out of time compression to the field where they were supposed to meet

Many interpretations can be made from the ending and that's a good thing, Squall is alive, yeah happy ending or Rinoa could be seeing things, as when Irvine points the camera you only sees Rinoa which shows who's she looking at and bang at the ending its Squall yeah or she is crazy and seeing things, it depends which ending you wanted it to be,

A happy one

or a sad one.

I prefer sad endings that's why I loved X, sad is better, if Cloud dies in Advent Children I'll die from crying but it would make it intressting.

Muhaha i played it over & over I have finischd the game about 4 times,and still havend playd it enough , i just started a new game:)

But the ending is verry nice every time i see it

i just play and save before every nice FMV or part of the game... then i save the 2 slots on a cd...

so now anytime i want i can play any part of the game over again, including a winning combination for the final battles :P

that's the advantage of PC version, lots of save slots

Useless Post. Don't act idiotic if you don't wish to be banned. Also if Rinoa wanted to be with Squall that much, her will could have brought the two together. When they came together, their love for each other was so strong, it broke the field of time compression, and they ended up meeting where they promised to meet. (And they all lived happily ever after........ Bit too much like a fairy tale ending to me. I prefer them where a main character achieves something only to lose it a few seconds later. That's why I love FFX and Moulin Rouge. A main character in each ceases to exist after learning that they love someone. It's so typical though. You die or become a dream in the case of FFX, literally as you find the one you love. Anyway, enough chatting about my life and back to the topic)

Yeah, I prefer a sad ending. But it won't be so sad if Cloud dies, after all he'll be returning to the Planet, and so will be with Aeris and his mum and dad

how do they actually get into time compression when ultimecia is destroyed?? wasn't time compression the same world with no acces to the towns and such? how did they come to be in some sort of 'messed up area'?

ultimecia wasn't destroyed when time compression began. it began after they destroyed sorceress adel.

after they defeated ultimecia, they were supposed to go back in their own time in the many time warps, and you really don't call that time compression.

Yeah, they were all supposed to think happy thoughts, of where they were supposed to be and stuff. But Squall ended up back at the orphanage in the past and then he ended up lost in time and then depending on what you believe, Rinoa did or didn't find them and they ended up back together at Garden.

Squall got lost in time, after defeating Ultimecia. He fell in the wrong time warp and ended up in the Orphanage. Then he got out of the time warp, and started looking for the others. But then he got lost and fainted. Rinoa found her, probably because of that angel feather that Squall found. Then they were back in their own time, and got reunited and then the part you hate... the happy ending.
