Bought it on Steam, just because I loved the original and I've worn out one PS2 and two copies of the game on it, thought having it on PC would be better than not playing it at all. But I'm not so sure now...I'm only up to leaving Besaid the first time, but the only characters that seem improved(or at least no worse off) are Jecht and Lulu. Tidus and Yuna look especially godawful. The new versions don't seem as expressive as the originals. The VA seems messed up as well. I had no trouble with the original game's voice acting, but this Steam port, the character's voices seem to go back and forth, like Wakka's accent is there and sometimes it's not. I was expecting better with the Valefor aeon, but hopefully the others will look better. If this was my first experience with FFX, there's no way it would have become my favorite game, I probably would have returned it and demanded a double refund.

I'll never forgive the butchering of Tidus' face. The poor bastard.

I've defeated Yunalesca now, and am still not really impressed. Yeah most of the monsters you fight look better, but they still haven't fixed that lag in the Kilika jungle and why couldn't they have made Dona look better? Dark aeons were a surprise to me...maybe I'll have to start using Yojimbo after all...

There was no lag to begin with in the jungle (PS2 NTSC-J V1.0 onwards)

You don't say Kilika Jungle lags!! How can a place like that lag? Last time I tried my PS2 version I took more time to enjoy each scenery in the game and I love the song that plays in Kilika Jungle. Better-looking monsters are charming but is it true that the characters have sorta dead eyes?

Heard that some Dark Aeon battles are excruciating. Still... no HD can make me try harder on the Blitzball game to get Wakka's final weapon!

When you are in the beginning of Kilika jungle near that little pillar with the shining blue thing in it and where you fight Ochu, game slows down...just in that spot though. Tidus and Yuna's new eyes are wrong...Tidus' are like those blue things I just mentioned in Kilika(and in Besaid ruins just before you 'fight' Kimahri), and Yuna's seem like they doubled in size...most of the characters' expressions seem dead now, not just the eyes. Playing X-2 remaster wasn't as bad, probably because I didn't give a crap about that game so it's pretty impossible to ruin it further for me. And you get new dresspheres...the only thing X-2 was good for was inspiring me to write a fanfic where Yuna's being a total b**** because Baralai and Rikku are married and she knows they're not so much husband/wife as they are Master/slave and she refuses to believe it's consensual, even after Rikku told her weeks before her wedding that she was the one who threw herself at Baralai while she was still shacking up with Gippal. That's the whole point of X-2, it's like a fanfic itself, meant to be fodder for further crap. I won't write fics 'bout x cause the story was fine as is, I see no reason to change anything.

Tidus looks like he's his own younger half-cousin. Other than that, unless you're comparing them side by side, I never noticed a difference, mainly because I haven't played it since I beat it within the same year it released. Still GOTY material! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJotVinhXJ4)

Still can't be arsed to play through X-2. Fugly J-pop music tracks kill it for me. It has about as much appeal as FFIV: The After Years. I don't need to play the same game twice just with some new gameplay mechanics. Looks fine though, graphically, so... win?
