Inon Zur
Not really. He composed only 4 tracks out of 60. The rest are composed by:

- Alexander Fomichev
- Dmitry V. Silantyev
- Dryante
- Mikhail Kotov
- Sergey Eybog (composer of Everlasting Summer visual novel).

I acquired the Flac version from Gog. This is the same size as Gog (1.2 GB), which was 24bit 48 KHz with all the 60 tracks bloated by a 2 MB cover art. By removing the cover art and (carefully) downconverting to 16b44KHz, I was able to reduce the files to 560 MB in Flac. You can use Mp3Tag to just remove the cover art (right click on the image at the bottom of the left pane), but the file size won't automatically shrink (it will just become padding), so you need to reencode the file to Flac or use metaflac.exe to get the space savings (120 MB reduction).

This is kind of ignorant recommendation.

1. You don't need mp3tag (proprietary Windows-only software, although still great) to remove album art. You can do it with metaflac only:

metaflac --remove --block-type=PICTURE --dont-use-padding *.flac

metaflac --help or man metaflac for more info.

Moreover on unix-like OS you can use all your CPU threads with GNU parallel (viable for a job with lot of FLAC files):

parallel metaflac --remove --block-type=PICTURE --dont-use-padding ::: *.flac

If you'd like the stuff to be re-encoded:

metaflac --remove --block-type=PICTURE,PADDING --dont-use-padding *.flac
parallel flac --best --verify --force --padding=4096 ::: *.flac

This will get you FLAC's encoded with the latest reference encoder, without cover and with 4 KB padding as the last block of a file.

2. There is absolutely no need to downsample 48 KHz to 44.1 KHz without a reason. Don't do it. Bit depth (16 or 24) doesn't matter.
You can use sox (Sound eXchange) to just reduce bit depth from 24 bit to 16.

mkdir flac16 && parallel "sox -V1 {} -G -b 16 flac16/{} dither" ::: *.flac

Is anyone else noticing a bit of cracking in some of the tracks? I've noticed a bit of noise in the track 'Old Sycamore Caves'.

Thanks for the share!

If you find yourself wondering why the cover artwork looks like it does: I have no idea who came up with this strange "face close-up" and the typo without any logo for the original release. That's why I did a decent cover based on the key art of the game. So, here is your chance to grab a cover looking more like an official release.
