Hi folks,

if you're a fan of Suikoden II's music, good news - a recently startet Kickstarter project has been successfully funded.
It will feature fully orchestrated music from Konami's beloved RPG, one of the most memorable out there for sure!

Responsible for this is a newly formed company called VGM Classics (http://www.vgm-classics.org/), their music director is non other than Kentaro Sato (https://vgmdb.net/artist/10336)
(Arranger for DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY, TYPE-0, etc.) and to be performed by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra.

Article from RPGFan: http://www.rpgfan.com/news/2018/8174.html
Kickstarter page: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vgmclassics/suikoden-ii-an-orchestral-cd-2cd-0

I supported the project as I love Suikoden and its music so if you like it, do it as well!

Only 9 days left and the next stretch goal isn't far away :)

Spread the news!

Max

Interesting. I can't donate right now, but I am definitely interested in buying it when it's released. Keep us posted!

If you are involved in this project in any capacity, I strongly encourage bandcamp as a sales medium.

I am like 90% more likely to buy an album if it's available on bandcamp.

I was able to back it without a problem just now. What's really interesting is that their other project, Star Fox 64, has gotten almost no traction. I guess it's not as popular! BTW, I agree with you about Bandcamp. I think it's a great platform for musicians and labels. Bandcamp takes just a small percentage to run the site (unlike iTunes et al.). The rest goes to the musicians.

We have negotiated with the related parties that we will plan a new orchestral recording featuring music from “Suikoden I” when 3000 CDs (or Download) from the initial press/license are sold. We hope this CD not only fulfills the wishes of game music lovers, but also contributes to the advancement of musical art and culture at large. We hope you can support us by purchasing the recording, and support our future crowd-fundings!

Now this is a deal I can get behind. $27 for an album is crazy expensive by US standards. Hope that doesn't hold fans back. I'll probably grab a copy when I'm at my desktop tonight.
