Awesome thread. A lot of lossless Western soundtracks posted on FFShrine in other threads recently have ( I suspect) been ripped from Tidal or Deezer. This is fine as long as one checks to make sure they are true lossless, but digitally purchased high res music is a more reliable source.

Lost a 4TB drive. Included in this was my entire music library + my Python/batch Qobuz tool (Qo is my main source for hi-res stuff). Really sorry, will let you know if stuff changes.

That's promising, I hope file recovery is possible if you decide to fix the drive!

Don't throw away your HDD. First try switching it if it's in an enclosure or USB hub of some sort, then try the various data recovery utilities. Depends on your OS. What you should do is use a disk cataloging program or to make an easy accessible index of all the data on each drive. Many recovery apps do their own indexing as well to make recovery after failure much easier.

It has broken pins, so there's no chance in getting my OS to recognise it. The bios chip needs to be soldered on to a spare donor board I have. I was having problems with it even before the broken pins; it would disappear from explorer / devmgmt whenever it wanted. Appreciate the advice.

So you could theoretically obtain any Qobuz album you want?

That's right.

Except tracks that are unavailable for streaming because the record label has disallowed it.
Also, Qobuz-DL can only download albums with 100 tracks or less in them. I can increase this limit easily, but it's pretty inefficient.

Qobuz ripper, nice creation. From what people say, as with Tidal you need a paid subscription in order to use stream rippers like Athame. Tidal in lossless is over twice as expensive though. Last time I checked Qobuz wasn't available in Australia (perhaps a VPN would allow account creation; I execrate regional restrcitions). Deezer can be rippped from with a free account, and the majority of their content is 1644 lossless,

Not quite true; the free account only allows crappy 128kbps mp3 quality downloads, and the Premium account slightly less crappy 320kbps mp3; only the so-called 'hi-fi' account gives CD quality 1411.2kbps lossless quality. Just sayin' :-D

Hmm; I did what you said, downloaded and installed DeezLoader Remix 4.2.2, and created a free account, but there isn't an option in 'Settings' in DeezLoader to set 'FLAC download', or indeed, any way of setting the quality of the download. Any suggestions?
