What do you think about it?
Did you already play it.
Are you planning to buy it or already have it and what do you think about the story.

I personaly think its a briliant game.
The story is worked out perfect. Even the little details that most players don't look at are allright.

I almost never play out a ps2 game in less then one month (well i did with medal of honor rising sun but that one was to easy, even on hard).
But i realy did with this game. I spend like 6 hours without even standing up behind my tv to see the next part of the story or find the plot of the part out.

I'm going to wait for Metal Gear Solid 3 Substance to come out before I play it. The MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 are something I can't pass up.

The term "Snake Eater" is a good title for it. Oh by "Snake" I dont mean the animal type.

Joking, but that term has stuck in my mind ever since i saw the game.

I wasn't talking about the NES ones.

I was talking about the MSX games.

You see, the MSX system was never released in the US. Konami (known as Ultra back then) released Metal Gear as port to the NES. However, compared to the MSX version, it was totally different in terms of story and how everything is laid out. Heck, for those who actually did play the MSX version, the music in MGS VR Missions were remixed music from the MSX games.

There were two MSX Metal Gear games: Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Those are the official canon games and not Metal Gear NES or Snake's Revenge (which Hideo didn't even take part in working on anyways). Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, was never ported to the NES or even released in the US. The only way we would actually play it is to use an MSX emulator.

So in short: Metal Gear NES is crappy port of MSX version. Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake was never released in the US.

uhum,
The fury is quite hard i think.
Or did you play it on easy?
I am playing it on hard.

but most bosses hate shotguns (hint).
You can shoot volgin several times with a shotgun in the back when you have a bit luck. And you can snipe 'the end' before you even fight with him :)
Or just don't turn on your console for a week and he will be death :)

or you can change the date, that also works. The end, you can get in the wheelchair. and i'm playing it on hard too, but the fury was by far the easiest, except the sorrow

The sorrow is a bit harder think work tough.
That you need to take that revival pill isn't realy easy to come up with.

Just when snake snaps his arm back inplace when it goes to his vision (r1) go to the extreme left. You will see the sorroes corpse, just where the boss left him

It`s great, at first i found it a bit comical but later i got used to it. Anyway, it`s a change from that Harry gregson cheesy music.

Anyone else here find the Volgin character a bit contrived?

Also, The Fear was fucking hilarious. Pity you can't get the true stealth camo this time around, though.

You can, find and shoot all the Kerotons (little frog things) and you get true stealth camo. Also, yeah the fear was a weird one.:)
