surprisingly not shit. rogue nation thematic material i'm less familiar with but the two classic MI themes we've heard throughout the film series are stated frequently.

I only know there to be one theme throughout all of them and that’s Lalo Schiffrin’s original M:I theme. However, Kraemer included “The Plot” from the original series, which is also Schiffrin. This was used as Benji’s theme. Ilsa’s theme is Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma” from the opera Turandot. Fitting, if you’ve seen RN.

Nope, that's Lalo Schifrin's The Plot. Apparently it's also in M:I1 and M:I3.

Elfman and Giacchino both also used "The Plot" in their respective scores. And it pops up in Fallout briefly. As far as I know, M:I 2 is the only film not to feature "The Plot" (which incidentally, is the theme Schiffrin identifies as the series' main theme - with the more famous one acting as a "Mission: Accomplished" theme)

Unfortunately, I wouldn't get your hopes up for Fallout. To me, it's a dreadful, boring, waste of a score. Generic, plodding and sounding like it was orchestrated by a kid who just listened to a bunch of bad Zimmer-esque trailer music. Simply awful.

That said, thank you Miss Purple for the quality upload! Really appreciate it! :-)

Interesting. Ive only seen the first one once in full (gasp) and M:I-2 Ive actually never seen. 3 Ive also only seen once, 4 a few times. When I rewatch all 5 before I see Fallout, Ill try and pay attention.

I've listened to the entire thing and as I predicted, none of Kraemer's material is used/tracked (unless I'm just dumb and missed something). The same villain is in it, they should've kept his theme as it was awesome. These are the cues that include Schifrin's original themes:

Your Mission
Good Evening, Mr. Hunt
Change of Plan
Fallout
Stairs and Rooftops
Free Fall
The Exchange
Steps Ahead
Escape Through Paris
We Are Never Free
Kashmir
Fate Whispers to the Warrior
And the Warrior Whispers Back
Cutting On One
Mission: Accomplished

The same villain is in it, they should've kept his theme as it was awesome.

McQuarrie wasn't as nuts about it as everyone else is; there's a reason Kraemer felt compelled to write and record a concert arrangement. He was having to simplify the theme further and further at McQuarrie's request, until the film had relatively little of the actual theme as he'd originally conceived it.

It's mission impossible filtered through the dark knight. I can see why some dislike it but to say it's garbage is a big stretch IMO. But then, I quite like this soundtrack and I was never sure why people love the Rogue Nation ost so much.

I liked Balfe's work on "Assassin's Creed" games and I think "Terminator Genisys" is underrated... but holy crap this score is such a bombing disappointment after the Giacchino and Kraemer efforts. Woof. It even pales before Zimmer's bombastic heavy metal cues from the 2nd film.

Seriously. It's easily the worst part of the film, too. It grates in the quieter dramatic scenes and it saps the joy out of the action sequences—which are otherwise spectacular. What a massive failure.

Well. If ya musical taste centers on massive amounts of **BUWHAAAAAAMMMMMMMM BWAAAAAMMMMMMM BUUMMM WHAAAMMMMM over and over to represent **epicness** then this will do. The track Fallout is all you need listen to to judge this. Aside from the bhwamm shit, it includes what I have heard described as "shitty strings", and "panning French horns". It is truly comical. Especially for a film and score at this level. Now, if this is your thing then more power to you. Personally I dislike much modern score styles. So I thought I may as well give this a try since there is a lot of good press about t.

ME: I don't really care for the newer scores

THEM: Try Fallout. It's Great. It's emotional AND epic all in one'

ME: OK sure. Why not?

**listens to Fallout**

ME: AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH my ears burn. What the?......

The Exchange and subsequently Escape Through Paris are contextually incredible. Certainly the strongest uses of the theme song in the score.

Anyone willing to take a crack at putting the tracklisting in chronological movie order? It seems to be wildly out of place compared to how the film plays.

madboy7931

Yes, just come out of the movie (LOVED IT) but the OST is wildly out of order. Makes listening to it all the more difficult. Can't say I loved the score, it had it's moments. Sounded like a mix of Dark Knight, Inception and Tron Legacy (Change of Plan especially) and does not come close to M:I RN as the themes were more memorable and A400 is one of my standout cues EVER!

This.

Maybe it would feel a bit more....building theme-y if this were done.... but did sound "rudimentary action music" to put over anything....and the rest just usual SPY tension-y vibrations.....Only bit I liked were the bongos. ;)

It's grown on me last few days in chrono order.

Not as bad as "at first".

Movie is one of the better ones...but that drawn out ending....way too drawn out.
