you should get a overdrive or mute, they sound good on my keyboard.

Well it's all about personal preference. I personally like my Fender Telecaster+, but you may not, it all depends on what you think.

i prefer the babu series from washburn...i have a tabu tb-300 myself. u just gotta love playing that guitar. or gibson sg... a true classic..very nice sound..true rock N roll. ok i didnt go in details why i digg those guitars(maybe cause i didnt understand ur question,im mean type english for god sake)...anyway..u just gotta love'em:P

Go to a guitar store and ask to try out any guitar you like the look of, and you will start to learn how they sound and feel. Then you can pick one out that you like.

I personally prefer Martin Acoustics they are very expensive (for the good ones) but amazing quality

But my favourite electric is the Gibson les paul 1977 SE that my dad's friend owns it is worth about 7 grand and is worth every penny.

You should probably start out with a Squier Strat, they're cheap, and they make great beginner guitars, or on the go guitars if you don't wanna break you nice one.

Squier strat is really a good guitar for begginers, however if you are loaded with money i reccomend Ibanez Jem series or the Joe Satriani signature. If you are more into sharp metal guitars get BC Rich warlock or the beast.

That guitar is nothing special imo, get yourself an ESP or Washburn.

This is the best advice. The guitar that's the best for you...well, none of us can tell you that. It's all about what you think feels best in your hands, what you think suits your style and preferred sound the best.

and Metal, LTD is made by ESP...Some of their models are pretty good. That one pictured probably isn't, but still. Most "ESP" guitars you'll find will probably be LTD.

Anyway. If you want to play metal, I suggest you get something with 24 frets and two volume knobs. A nice, double locking tremolo system would be appropriate as well if you want to get into soloing.

If price is an issue though, or you're a beginner, don't worry about that stuff yet.

Trick is to hit your local guitar shop with your amp and your leads, then ask to try out guitars. Hence you'll know how it will sound, for you, when you play it. Otherwise they'll get out their finest cables and their biggest amp, and it'll sound a lot better than it really does.

To be fair, that depends a lot on the music store you go to. The one I go to is privately owned and the guys working there actually care about giving you what you're looking for. They usually ask you what you're playing at home and look through all their amps to try to find what they think will sound the most like it. Which leads to another good point: Don't listen to salesguys at huge chain stores. They want you to spend as much money as they can get you to because 9 times out of 10 they make commission off of it, and they will exaggerate the shit out of stuff, or tell you that you need things you don't.

I sure as hell don't play Stairway to Heaven. Or fucking Smells Like Teen Spirit, either. Nobody should ever be allowed to play either one of those on a guitar ever again.

Yeah, sorry, I'm used to London shops. Basically they try and sell you their most expensive guitar. Sometimes chain stores CAN do good deals when they sell off their old guitars, but in that case you most likely just need to know what you're getting.

When and if I was buying a guitar, I most certainly wouldn't play Nirvana or Stairway. Probably something QOTSA. Not that I'm really that good yet :smrt: But I'd want something that could sound a bit rough and ready, but not so much that it's some gaudy over-rawk sound � la Pantera.

I tried out the Steve Vai's Jem Ibanez and my crap copy of fender stratocaster on a really good marshal amp for stage performance. There's a BIG difference.
It's not all in the amps and sounds processores.

Cus its what I play, Encores okay too, there good basic guitars, best for begginers, though Im not anymore lol.

The thing I've found and would strongly recommend when looking for a guitar is to try as many models as possible. You might have an idea of what you want in your head, but when it comes to buying it, quite often it might not be the one you really find most comfortable to play. Also if you take several copies of the same model, they wont all sound or feel identical, even though they are all the same. I've played several Telecasters over the years and have found so many differences in how they weigh up to each other...

When I went out to get my last electric, I was looking for something like a Schecter Ultra III, or a vintage Tokai Les Paul (far superior to the Gibson LP!), but ended up getting my 7 string Kramer from an advert in Gumtree instead, and that took me several months to find. So don't just jump at the first thing you see!!!

The last guitar I bought was an 18 string jumbo acoustic that still needs a bit of work done to the body...
