The limit break Cids Highwind hits many many times but it will never take off 9999 each hit. Even with 255 attack power it isn't that powerful, i forget now buit about 6000 per hit.

1 method which im not sure works is to equip cid with his ultimate weapon 'Venus Gospel' which power is determined by MP. Thought HP>MP was useless? think again! by giving Cid 9999 MP his physical attacks always take off 9999 and his lvl 4 limit break will hit 9999 each time! =)

I never thought of that. That would be better than Omnislash because Omnislash does 5,000 - 7,000 HP damage.

Lets sum it up

Omnislash definetly hits 15 times. With 9999 hp and his ultimate weapon he will take off 9999 HP every hit.

Highwind hits too fast to count but it looks to me like its more that 20, more like 25 hits. Usually it wont take off more than 5000 (not including critical hit) HP, but with the freak physics of the venus gospel which power is based upon the amount of MP, having 9999 MP would make you take off 9999 each hit, if 9999 wasnt the barrier god knows how much you would be hitting with Cid!

I knew it was good but not like that....

its not for certain that the MP>HP thing actually works in this instance, but in essence it should

It sounds as if it would so why wouldnt it.

I was only scepticle because its not his weapon he is using, but missles that are shooting at the enemy, but it must take on the effects of the weapon because i dont know how else the power of the missles would be determined, maybe just by cids strength status. But hopefully it does work ^_^

I will tell you if it works, when i go home, i might be able to do it, i dont know, maybe not, i will try it as soon as possaible, it sounds like it will work.

Highwind can be counted. Simply Cast mini on Cid then Hit the enemy with highwind. Scan the enemy and see how many hp it took off the total, as when your a mini, you can only deal 1 damage. I tryed this and highwind dealed 18 damage, so it hits 18 times.:)

So it's only 2 hits more than Omnislash, and you need to sacrifice 9000hp in order to make the extra hits count... Ain't worth it, I say. Omnislash remains to be the best. With 999hp, you're pretty much dead in one hit against the stronger enemies. Still, highwind is the second strongest limitbreak.

How did you get him to do 6000 per hit with highwind, anyway. My cid only does around 4000 with highwind and he has 999mp. Weird.

Maxed out stats and max mp will give him a hit of 6000. I'm not sure if it will ever exceed that mark. And it hits 3 more times than Omnislash lol.

Uhmm, Interesting suggestions and examples and all, but I think that Cloud's omnislash still packs more damage.. since it has 9999 damage every time whilst highwind always varies which isn't a really good thing o_o

4000? maybe its cuz my attack power is higher, also, i hit about 6000 per hit but 1 in 3 hits are criticals, so a third of the hits deal 9999 even without the mp>hp

and thanks SSJ that was a clever idea

Oh and also - You could use the MP>HP materia only when your limit got up, which would be well utilized.

also it hits more than 18 times if you think about it

17 hits
plus 1 hit that hits all enemies because the last explosion hits all of them

so a max of 17 + 5 enemies - 22 hits i think =)

Omnislash has never reached 9999 HP damage for any reason at all, as a matter of fact, it has only reached a total per hit of around 6000. How did you get it to 9999?

All you have to do is make sure that your hp is 9999 when you cast it, have Ultimate weapon, and maybe morph so guys, to get some str. pluses. Being A higher level will raise your attack power, but being lv 70, and using str.pluses to raise str is better, because at lv 99 u can easily deal 9999 but it takes a long time to fill the limit bar. At level 60 or 70 it fills quickly.

I was playing a lot last night, i didnt get a chance to do that much materia stuff, but anyway, i ave Cloud lvl 99, Str 108 and Limit Lvl 4. What else do i need. Plus Fury helps reach Limit Faster, 9999 HP, 999 MP. What Else?

I think I may know why my Cid only does 4000 damage with highwind. While his attack is 255, his strength is only 195. So I guess I have to max out his strength completely...

to zack:
Morph some power source and give them to Cloud. Get his strength way up there and he'll be doing 9999 every time.

SSJ

And even if your Str. is 255 you can still give Cid power sources. His stat will not go up, but his attack will. I'm pretty sure that is a fact, but his attack won't go up fast.

i have all their stats maxed, and i can't remember, but i don't think it does quad-9 in any persons' case. but i could be wrong, like i said, i can't remember. but i'm pretty sure omnislash does 13 or 14 attacks. and highwind and doom of the living do as many attacks.

Omnislash did 16 I thought =p, and I thought highwind had alot more damage then Omnislash did ....

I remember how my Cid's Highwind couldn't even finish a tonberry, while Cloud can always kill a tonberry with his omnislash. Omnislash just has more power overall. Highwind has more hits but it takes A LOT of power source for it to match with omnislash because it does very less damage per hit.

Zack
02-13-2002, 11:37 PM
Compare...
Omnislash- Roughly around 5,000-6,000 HP
Highwind- Roughly around 3,000-4,000 HP but htis is mine.

So if it has more attacks that would make it just as or just less then Omnislash.

i cant understand why you arnt taking off 9999 with omnislash everyhit, i cant remember not taking that off. Maybe you dont have the ultimate weapon.. i dunno.

omnislash = 15 hits certain
