Dream Collection Main Thread (Thread 222991)

No YouTube sample this time. Sorry!

Well, it took a little longer than I would have liked, but it's finally here -- The Dream Collection: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh! Boy-o, that's a mouthful...

If you've been following my updates on the main thread, you'll know that I was unfortunately unable to extract the musical numbers without vocals/dialogue, so instrumental versions of songs are a no-go this time. Other than that omission, however, this set should include everything as heard in the film, from the Sherman Brothers' songs to Buddy Baker's vivid score (with the exception of two small cues, which I address in the liner notes). If I may say so, I'm quite proud of my work on this set -- and none of it would have been possible without the kind contributions of TrueGatorGuy, among others. Thank you!

This set includes:

Songs
Score
Bonus Tracks
README / Liner notes
Song Lyrics

Dave999 (cover art designer for The Dream Collection) whipped up two alternate cover options. Give them a look:

My good pal "TrueGatorGuy" (the fellow who made this project possible in the first place!) also contributed a cover of his own. I quite like it!

Dear PigmaskCol...I was never interested in Winnie the Pooh until I saw CHRISTOPHER ROBINS!
Now Im after everything POOH and your edition seems WONDERFUL with score and songs.
Im trying to download it but every time I try,I get a DISABLED notice.
Can you help,please?

Would love to have this as well but getting the same "traffic limit" disabled message. Thanks in advance!

Apologies for the "traffic" error... It appears that all of my Dropbox content has been banned due to a legal takedown from Disney. I've been aware of the problem for several days and am currently trying to migrate the files to another service, but it may be a little while before it's all back up in one piece. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Alright -- I've updated all of the Dream Collection download links and migrated them to MEGA. Additionally, all files are now triple encrypted and password-protected just to be safe (thanks to bison74 for tipping me off to this trick!). The password for the first RAR is "PigmaskColonel". Please inform me if you encounter any issues with the download or extraction, and I'll be positive to fix it as soon as possible. Hopefully it's smooth sailing from here on out!

Bahaha... Thanks, but I'm no Randy Thornton. I sure wish I had the same opportunities he has, though; what a privilege it must be to work with those musical relics straight from the source.

Thanks a lot! I haven't watched this movie in a long time, but I find myself humming the music from it fairly frequently. It's just that catchy. This was the Sherman Brothers at their best.

In the link, it is the full 1996 VHS of The Many of Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

What's interesting is that it is the Stereo Remix. Also on the 1996 Laserdisc.

Using the recent remastered version with the stereo mix, it makes me think with most Disney films in the 70s, they released stuff in mono optical sound on 16/35mm prints through the RCA Sound System (Photophone).

For the 1996 VHS, Disney was celebrating 30 years of the first Winnie the Pooh featurette, The Honey Tree in 1966.

When Buddy Baker, the music director/arranger/conductor of the Pooh featurettes, recorded the scores for the 3 (Honey Tree, Blustery Day, Tigger Too!), it was probably recorded in multi-track analog tape and mixed in stereo, downmixed for mono optical sound prints, and was kept in the Disney vaults until this specific video release in '96.

Stereo tapes/records were available in 1965/66, 1968, and 1974 (when the shorts were made.)

(In the link, you’ll notice in the opening music cue, the violins are panned left and the harp is panned right.)

So with the recent release on Blu-Ray and with the 1996 Stereo Mix, it should make a unique experience.
