For starter, it's already available around here ( Mixi's (Thread 168635) comes to mind ).

And, well I'm sure you're uploading your stuff, so the "link" isn't active yet, but take the time to warn people before they come jumping on you because "the link doesn't work?!".

It's a 3xCD release but I ain't seeing any logs. That's not how you share CD rips.

@murlakatamenka
That's not necessary, but it can help showing how good it is.

I was hoping this would be more of a proper orchestral arrangement of the major themes of the series. Instead, it is an occasionally-orchestral soundtrack that more often features a few solo performers. It also has the same hollow feel as his recently re-recorded FFXII soundtrack and Tactics Ogre before that.

Thanks for the upload.

@Sirusjr:

This sounds quite bad for an orchestral rerecording. Maybe I set my expectations too high. I only ask why bother if it mostly only marginally sounds better than the original and in some cases worse.

Even better, the new stuff he makes is all synth. Valkyria Chronicles 4 would be so great if it was a real orchestra but alas we are cursed: Spoilers (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hueLUnMw8xo&t=1m15s)

Not sure why you all prefer completely orchestra but for me this make his music much more unique but I agree that the DC pro album barely sound different than some track compare to normal one . Moreover , VC 4 is a budget game with a lot of reused music (atleast half of the soundtrack i heard so far in game ) so i dont expect he will has alot of money to record all of them orchestra except maybe few like main theme

Well it is titled "Pro Orchestra Album" so I would have expected a proper orchestra. As for why I would prefer fully orchestral, it is the style I enjoy the most. There is something about the sound of a properly recorded orchestra that delivers emotion in a way that other things don't.

Yeah, a shame about the budget for VC4. His Basiscape sound is certainly charming and one of the best synth orchestra sounds on the planet but at the end of the day, all it does is trying to compensate for the lack of real musicians/players/ensembles. They bring a whole other level of emotion to the music, as Sirusjr mentioned. Not for nothing are game soundtracks like Xenoblade 2 or Ni no Kuni 2 so high recieved recently. You can programm an "emotional" piece with a computer, sure, but when real players perform it, they bring years of experience and craft and emotion playing their instrument in a way a computer just can't emulate and they can bring the best out of the music.

When Sakimoto has over 50 Players under his command, you get magic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq6I7QOBIAc&index=7&list=PLD0794A91623DBFC8

But more often than not, he simply doesn't have the budget and is more an oldschool video game composer at heart. It's not the end of the world, his music is good enough I love it even on SNES soundchips, but its still a shame... such a gifted composer.

How does one find anything in threads like that where they have a non-specific title and everything and anything is just dumped in there? I find it almost impossible using this site's search feature or Google if the term is not in the thread's title.

The same way you find them when searching anything or everything other than a thread's title.
Just have to use "show posts" in place of "show threads" when in the searching page.
Generally Mixi is using, like anything kind of "collection" posts should, an index ("VGM Collection" here).
I can agree that contrary to the usual it is under "construction" so not showing this time around.
But the post itself still exist in the thread. As so it showing in search results

But it's obviously even more easier when using google and site:ffshrine.org.
More than easier because this website's search engine is broken through and through anyway. =']

Now if people are using in their own threads wrong names, titles, serial number or whatnot...
In all cases you won't find them at all.

And well, I was just showing him that it was already uploaded, and mostly that his link wasn't working.
Nothing to fuss about so much ~

You probably misunderstood, no fuss on my end, just genuinely asked for advice (is that so odd on the internet? :)). Thanks.
