Now that I have bought a new turntable etc, I decided to Re-rip this and others in 24bit FLAC. These will be the ones that I will be ripping next, Killer Instinct-Killer Cuts LP, Contra III LP, Castlevania IV LP, Shinobi III LP, Death Stranding Singles.

I don't really understand LP rips, could someone explain if these are different than someone ripping a standard soundtrack CD? Thanks!

Vinyl provides much higher sample rates (16bit/41Khz vs 24bit/96khz and even higher)

Also Vinyls don't seem to be brickwalled like their CD counterparts, that is more of a mastering thing over the format itself though. Look up the loudness wars

"Vinyl provides much higher sample rates (16bit/41Khz vs 24bit/96khz and even higher)". Mostly Wrong. Audiophiles rip vinyl at studio master settings but in reality vinyl is inferior to CD audio. Vinyl has a dynamic range of about 50 DB (crackling level is around -40 DBFS), CD Audio has a Dynamic range of 96 Dbfs. Recording and saving it at 2496 doesn't improve the audio, just like saving a 128kb/s MP3 as flac doesn't improve the quality. Vinyl same about the same frequency response as CDs at 44KHz, but very low and high frequencies need to be EQed down.

There is absolutely no reason for a vinyl only remaster; it would sound better released as a 24b96KHz digital download, or even a 1644 digital download, provided no cretin audio engineer applied a brickwall limiter to the music.
