I've listened to both of them, I much prefer your version, even if I keep them both, sometimes even professionals make mistakes.
Basically, you've vertically mixed the channels, keeping phase rotations to acceptable levels
Thank You for share. (Sorry for scolastic traduction)

Thank you and right on time, since this month is celebrating the 333rd birthday to the man himself, JS Bach!

I'm definitely going to give both versions a listen. :)

Thanks Bob. I can't wait to hear what you did with the surround sound version to give us a better listening experience.

Stereo listeners, however, have a problem to overcome, because for whatever reason, Harmonia Mundi mastered the stereo version of this recording so that the 2nd choir/continuos rear location is conveyed by simply making it sound like its somewhere off in the distance - which results in a very unfortunate lack of clarity, impact, and definition for those selections.

I am a stereo listener. I listened just part of the non-FS version and I noticed that the voice of the solists on track 8 and 23 are indeed a bit off in the distance like Bob says. But Im not sure if what I noticed is what he is referring to.

However, I would be curious to see what kind of hi-fi surround system Bob uses to listen to his music. I own an heavy stereo system that costed me a lot of money, and a six channels system for music would require three times the cost plus three times the space I use, which is for me just impossible to do.

Backing to this stereo recording this one and the other Passion by Joannes, uploaded by Bob, I would say that it is excellent: the sound is clear and the soundstage is really so good.
