It could work but i think ff is best at a solo experience. It makes it more personal.

Well Crystal Chronicals is multiplayer and it's really fun but on some FF games you can change the setup of battle control to be split between two controllers but that caused a lot of problems for me. From what I've seen of FF XII so far it looks like it could be fun but I'm not sure.

Plus, what if "2 player" can`t play, lets just keep it one player.

No friends, eh?

Anyway, I'm not sure how 2 player would work - all other multiplayer FF games have been crap (Crystal Chronicles, one guy had to lug around the fucking crystal, FF9 the other player only did things in battles, which is an anticlimax after waiting through the stroyline).

I'd say keep the 2 (and more!) player to games like Halo where both players can keep themseleves entertained the entire time.

i'd say 2 players. it would be more fun to play final fantasy with another friend.

FF games can be fun with two players but I enjoy them more when I'm playing solo (with the exception of Crystal Chronicles)

You know how you can enjoy Final Fantasy with 2 players?

You get one guy on the controller and the other guy to watch.

SEE, It's good to play together.

It would be cool as long as they made it right. I think square are better at making single player FF. Online version's are cool though. But if they make a good 2 player it would be GREAT.

Though a lot of my mates hate final fantasy. The only people who i know who like it are 1 guy and about 4 girls. Not many.

Nah I think it's better playing FF by yourself.

Yea I only know one other guy my age who likes FF, the only other guy is like a gillion and works in virgin megastores O_0 something tells me inviting him round to "Play with me" would qualify me for therapy.

I think the 2 player Option is good, as in if your mate is around at the time, he can join in partly in battles, lol i can see it now though people are just gonna cast ultima on their friends :p

one player. definitely.

Most of the time in two player games like this, the second player doesn't do anything

i think 2 player would be good if the 2 players were actually moving on the screen together, but if its just 2 player during battles, that would probably just get annoying.

2 players moving on the screen at the same time would'nt really work, you'd still have the one player doing everything and the second person simply following behind.

Besides most FF games take many many hours to complete and i don't know anyone who'd be patient enough to play it with me =-O

No I don't think it would be cool. I think that Final Fantasy should just stick to what they have been doing for the past 15 years. ( I think 15 ) Changes like that will make some people upset and some things are best left alone.

Necron

yeah s'pose ff12 should be left as it is probably, but i would like to see a mulitplayer ff that doesn't need to use a game boy advance (crystal chronicles).

Just left FF one player, the story is more intense when you don't have another guy mocking or saying things off topic, FF is a great ONE player game, and it should remain that way because if we don't feel attached to the story it's half the fun

Yeah, still it may have multiplayer compatibility like in ffIX, so one can play alone or in groups and everyone is happy

Being able to play FFXII with another FF junkie would rock. It would be great if you could have two different stories for 1 and 2 player modes.

I thought Star Ocean was 2-Player vs.

and I believe Legend of Mana is 2-player

2-player rpgs a best if it's an action-rpg, but if anyone could pull it off in a normal RPG it's Square-Enix

I thought FF's 6-9 all had uses for the second player controller already... but no one ever bothered to use them. I'm not quite sure how it worked, but I think it opened port 2 to be able to control the menu cursors as well... I'm not sure how that worked, but I do have vague memories of my two brothers sending the pointy finger across the screen again and again, and some major ass kicking on the parts of the monsters who had no idea why their opponents weren't doing anything because they are thoughtles ais.

Uhhh, guys, FFVI actually DID allow two players. You could set the control of characters to controller 2 so that people sort of did a "team battle" kind of thing. I thought it was ok, but FF really is a 1 player series.
