I've been looking for this, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4iiX4KByYk. It's the theme Funimation used for the opening/credits of the US version of the movies (I think the arrangement changes a bit), and at least for the Orange Brick sets. I know DBZ's soundtrack changes can be a sore spot for some, but blasphemous as it may be, I'm a Falcouner guy, and it's such a rocking song that I want in my library.

I've been unable to find whether it ever got a physical or digital release in a soundtrack. Any help or insight would be appreciated (a download link even better if a release exists!).

If you want, I can probably get that on FLAC or something. I'll upload it later today for ya.

Thanks! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get this from? Is it a BD/DVD rip?

The AC3 was a rip from Dead Zone UUE DVD, the THD from the Blu-ray and then the FLAC/MP3/AAC were conversions based from those. Somehow FLAC ended up larger than THD.

One can definitely hear the vast improvement on the THD track over the AC3 one.

I guess you don't know if this ever got an official release either then? Ah well, in any case thanks!

I know there's quite a bunch of Faulconer DBZ CD volumes FUNimation released so there's the possibility that opening is included but I don't know for sure, I didn't check them. I'd guess, if it's featured, it might be based off the DVD version which is evidently inferior to the BD one.

Well, we could go down a rabbit hole when it comes to quality Dragon Ball Z home media releases, but I'd rather avoid that if I can. As for those volumes: I think I went through all of them and couldn't find it. It may be that the only option is to rip it off the disc.

Best of Dragon Ball Z Volume 1. It's the very first track, I believe, simply titled "Dragonball Z".

Looking back at the link in the OP, I checked, and it's actually composed by Mark Menza, so I don't know if it's ever had an official release.
