I just wanna give a big thanks to brothersound for posting the (FYC) edition in flac.

While I'm a little split about the film, the score John Williams created was amazing. It was more engaging, more catchy, and more nostalgic than The Force Awakens, and cues like "Ahch-To Island", "The Fathiers", "A New Alliance", "The Battle of Crait", "The Spark", and "The Last Jedi" prove that.

Works fine. If unpacking doesn't work it doesn't have anything to do with the download but with your unpacker application. Try 7zip, Winrar, .... if you're on Mac try Keka or The Unarchiver.

OST 1 has the main titles and the 'Rebel Escape'; and FYC 1 only has the latter but with very different editing points. FYC 1 eschews the opening of the 'Rebel Escape' completely. Hard if not impossible to make a single unified edit.
OST 2 has two cues whereas FYC 2 only has one.
FYC 3 is embedded within OST 4.
FYC 5 and OST 5 have the same basic cue. OST 5 begins with an exclusive statement of Rose's motif whereas FYC 5 has ~53 seconds of jaunty stringwork to open up the track before joining up with OST 5.
FYC 6 and OST 6 share a cue, but OST 6 has another preceding it.
FYC 7 and OST 8 are the same cue.
FYC 8 and OST 9 are the same cue.
FYC 10 and OST 11 are the same cue.
FYC 13 and OST 14 are the same cue but with exclusive material on either release. OST 14 cuts out a lot of the lulls and presents a more prolonged action track.
FYC 15 and OST 15 are the same cue.
FYC 16 and OST 16 are the same cue.
FYC 17 and OST 17 are the same cue.
FYC 18 is basically a longer version of OST 18; plus FYC 18 bears an additional cue before the OST 18 material.
FYC 19 is the tail end of OST 19, which has another cue preceding FYC 19 material.
FYC 20 and OST 20 are the same basic idea (a suite of material) but what exactly comprises each differs.

Now when I say that FYC X and OST Y "are the same cue", that doesn't necessarily mean the editing points are similar at all. There are dozens of microedits in the two CD presentations; a few bars present in FYC X might be missing in OST Y, or vice versa. These small edits are all too numerous to list. Fortunately, aside from "Rebel Escape", combining two versions of the same cue to make a more 'definitive' one is pretty straightforward.
Palpy's motif is definitely in the movie, during the Snoke/Rey confrontation. Since the whole of that scene is designed to be a huge callback to Episode VI I figured it was a newly recorded rendition instead of tracked. I don't recall it being on the OST or FYC though (it would be in "New Alliance" if it were).

Not exactly true, I think. A lot of material was uncovered through the Battlefront games and other media. I have expanded cuts well over 2hrs in both cases (check my threads for more info).

Looks like Sonic has a new source to use for his deluxe edition. *sighs* had JJ Abrams did this for TFA, I would have bought the blu-ray. TLJ really did broke new ground, IMO and offered one of the best scores of the sequel trilogy, so hats off to Rian Johnson for doing this.

Sadly, it won't. The Blu-Ray will include a link to the same lossy download. At least it's AAC so maybe with some trickery someone can make something out of it.

But can that source be ripped? I mean, I read that the sound quality depends on where you see the movie: in PC is 96kpbs, Roku 5.1, etc Do you know the source of the version shared here?

According to the user from JWFan who shared it here, it is stereo, but i can't remember if he mentioned a bitrate. It sounds ok to my ears, though. I'm going to try and break down the single file to individual tracks tonight.
