the best time to level up is during the beginning of the game.

Liam

As soon as you can

Don't recommend that he levels at the start of the game! That's just stupidity!

The enemies and bosses you encounter in the game will be just as strong as you are, so as you gain levels, your enemies do too. In other words, the battles get harder for you if you level up too much.

You just need good junctions, and if you want to level up, wait until Disc 3, when you have access to Island Closest to Hell.

Yes disc 3 is definatly the best time using heaven and hell.

As if you level up before the bosses become very hard.

Well for me, I usually like to level up a bit sooner than Disc 3. I just go in the Garden and pilot it towards the Winhill area. THen I walk around the mountains north of Winhill and fight those hand monsters (I forgot what they were called but their in the great salt Lake too) and the face of the monster (I think it's called Visage) and I usually get 500 to 600 EXP out of those battles. So I usually level up to 50 before I go to Trabia garden.

Or you can just wait until Disc 3 and go to Heaven and Hell.

Disc 3, the islands closest to heaven and hell

I vote for not leveling until you have captured most of your GF's and have researched their plus abilities (Str+, Vit+ etc.) then go to the Island Closeset to Hell, equip all your plus abilities and then level. That way you can take full advantage of every level.
Don't worry with proper junctioning massive leveling shouldn't be required until you can get to the Island Closest to Hell. Most of the bosses aren't particularly strong if you use a little strategy and good sense.

I say level everyone except squall, against t-rexaurs, and use all of your most powerful magic avaliable to you to junction squall, that should lighten the load a bit.

Level up in the ice rink when you are in that place. 3AP for beating each of the ice hockey players, which if you are junctioned properly is a piece of p***

I say level up as least as possible. I mean I know you need your abilities but after that forgot about it. There is no reason for it.

Is that possible?
You are not a seed when you can first go inot the garden so you do not receive money. SO how can you keep your HP up.
EDIT: Oh you can go the dormitory, my apologies.

I mostly leveled up in the beginning of Disc 1 and just before I battled Ultimecia. Between then and there, just take the side quests and you should be fine.

when you have the time like when some one tell you to go somewhere do not go but go in to the training area and train, it is not like they are going to leave you because they are getting inpacent, you always have time to train

the ones mentioning the Ragnarok. The way I've been leveling up, you need all your GFs (or at least, Shiva, Tonberry, Leviathen, and Alexander)

Equip your party with the following abilities: Doom, Level Down (or Level Up if you wish to chance it) Revover and Revive. Then you never have to leave the Islands (H/H). I will admit, I didn't level up until it was too late (Ultimecia's Castle) and I use this for item hunting. But it should work for you too.

I'd level after disc 2 or when you get Ragnarok.

I got from level 50 to level 99 in "Hell" the little island at the end of one of the penninsulas, you can kill some monsters there that can give you parts for lionheart aswell, if you are still unsure on where Hell is, here is a map

If you want to a good seed level etc from the field exam then youll need to kill at least 75 monsters/enemys at dollet (as well as other things which can be found in walkthroughs here (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/game/197343.html) ) which got my level up to about 21 (this also includes the training i did previously to get my GFs to learn some abilities and to get 100 water for each charactor (refine from fish fins 1:20, total 15 fish fins) but that would be most of my training throughout the 1st disk unless i realy needed another ability learned. having your level about this hight and naturaly letting it go up (without forced training) can accualy get you better items and allow you to draw better magic earlyer. From then on id just let my charactors level up naturaly until i can go to the island closest to hell where id get every one up to 100 (i do every thing before the end of the 3rd disk, saves the trouble later).

when you have the time like when some one tell you to go somewhere do not go but go in to the training area and train, it is not like they are going to leave you because they are getting inpacent, you always have time to train
this can lower your SeeD level depending on the situation, so be careful.

Do not level or train at all. Wait until you have the Srt+, Vit+, Mag+ and Spr+ abilities. Trust me, not leveling is easier than refining Str Ups.

the best time to lvl (i have tested all ways) is at the very beggining of the game. i dont go back to bg with quistis till i am at the very least lvl 35. then i go lvl alone till 50. this way all your current gf's are high lvl and they know most of there abilities. the bosses will be easier in a sense of summoning a gf will kill them right off the bat. DO NOT WAIT TILL DISC THREE. i dont know how much i have to stress this! another GREAT spot is the forest right outside of timber. and then when u have access to mobile bg, the forest right behind matrons (edea's) place. ruby dragons are located here. i dont stop playing cards till i am able to refine to make punisher also, which obviously is ridiculously great to see b4 u become a SeeD.

Maybe that's true for a while, but IMHO decimating enemies with Degenerator on the Islands Closest to Heaven or Hell is the best way in the long run.

As soon as you can walk on the world map by timber on disc 1.
Go to the mountains towards winhill and there are visages there which give about 800exp! and are easy to beat, you can get to about level 40 in no time at all.

Agent0042

but thats a long time to wait
Maybe, but you're gonna get there sooner or later and really, it's not like there's anything that tough before then that requires you be at ultra-high levels to survive. Actually, the game's beatable on Level 1, but that's a whole 'nother kettle of fish...

10-19-2005, 08:35 PM
well ya lol but u can be the shit by lvl 35 or so. i started a new game 3 days ago and im at squall 38, zell 25, selphie 23. im not headin back to balamd for exam results till at least lvl 50 which will only take me out an hour or less. if i run into a t-rexuar i cast doom and wait. but ne ways, being at lvls make the game easier, its not like ur enemies change dramatically based upon ur lvl, its just a little ways

Yeah, in the early parts in the agme getting death needs work, also one of the best places to level up imo is the Hockey Players in Hockey field at Galbadia Garden in Disc 2, the only problem is that they take a while to show up
