I recently became interested in the Quake III soundtrack, after finding out Front Line Assembly was on it. There was an official soundtrack for this game, called Quake 3 Arena: Noise (http://vgmdb.net/album/3259), but it only includes Sascha Dikiciyan's contributions, plus some unused tracks. So I got to work ripping the game and gathering together whatever other music I could find, associated with it.

The music for Arena and Team Arena was ripped from the game itself. It came in 22.5 kHz WAV, which I upsampled to 44.1 khz using the SoX Resampler (https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,67373.0.html) component for foobar2000 (https://www.foobar2000.org/). Where possible, I used the corresponding tracks from the official soundtrack. The mastering on the soundtrack was a bit different, but I don't think anything else was changed. I could only find the Intro track in 128 kbps MP3. The End Credits track was on Bill Brown's website (http://billbrownmusic.com/music_horror.php#quake), in 160 kbps MP3. The final 3 tracks of disc 2 were exclusive to Sascha Dikiciyan's website (https://web.archive.org/web/20051206024613/http://www.sonicmayhem.com:80/music.html), and were downloadable in 128, 192, and 160 kbps MP3, respectively (kinda inconsistent, I know). I got the Dreamcast soundtrack from Zophar's domain (https://www.zophar.net/music/sega-dreamcast-dsf/quake-iii-arena), in V2 MP3. I don't know anything about Dreamcast ripping, but I'm under the impression that's the original format. Aubrey Hodges has since released an official soundtrack (http://vgmdb.net/album/38492) for this port, and several of the tracks are extended. I haven't actually bought it, instead opting to rip the streams from his Bandcamp page (https://aubreyhodges.bandcamp.com/album/quake-3-arena-dreamcast-official-soundtrack), meaning they're in 128 kbps MP3. If you like these tracks, consider buying them, and downloading them in whatever format you like. I much prefer his Quake 1 and 2 soundtracks, so I probably won't be doing that. They're mostly here for completeness' sake.

Update (2018-01-05): I was wrong: the Dreamcast port actually has its music in Redbook audio. As a result, the first 11 tracks of disc 3 are now FLAC. On top of that, a few tracks from the first two discs are now 44.1 kHz instead of upsampled 22 kHz. Specifically Hell's Gate and Quad Damage on disc 1, and Inner Sanctums, Scornforge, and Teamwerkz on disc 2. Where necessary, I looped these tracks to have the same length they did before.

if the work you put into this compilation wasn't proof you're a winner, that password on the file is definitely it. thanks!

Hey Infamous, thank you for your work!
I like this but I am going to put my own collection together because I don't want tracks of different qualities in one album.
How did you find the titles for the Quake 3: Arena ingame files? I know the Sonic Mayhem tracks are on the official soundtrack but where did you get the other titles from?

Also, can you elaborate on how you made the FLA tracks longer?

Here were my sources for the titles. Sources higher on the list were preferred to later ones.

Quake 3 Arena: Noise (http://vgmdb.net/album/3259)
Quake 3 Arena Dreamcast: Official Soundtrack (http://vgmdb.net/album/38492)
Bill Brown's website (http://billbrownmusic.com/music_horror.php#quake)
QuakeWiki (http://quake.wikia.com/wiki/Quake_III_Soundtrack)
Lowest numbered map where the track plays

My best guess is that the QuakeWiki titles are made up, since they conflict with the official soundtrack, but I went with them anyway since I don't have a better source.

Also, can you elaborate on how you made the FLA tracks longer?

Some of them had endings. Those ones I left alone. The ones that didn't have endings, I looped like this: intro (if applicable) + loop (x2) + 10 sec fade out

Yeah, that bugs me too. Incompleteness just bugs me more. Good luck, though.
