WHAT IS THIS?

So I'm trying to think of an adequate way to describe these soundtracks. Let me put it this way:
Do you like rock and metal? Do you like game rock & metal?
If yes, then you need these soundtracks in your life. Simple.

If T's Music are going to go down in history for anything, it'll be for these incredible pieces of heavy hitting but highly melodic rock tunes. Two different versions of the same music arguably makes them twice as awesome? There are clear production differences between the PC Engine and Sega Mega CD versions but they're both fantastic, really. And now of course they sound far, far better.

My goal is to present to the community well-mastered Original Sound Version / OST music of the greatest soundtracks video gaming has to offer, with an emphasis on early/mid-90s obscurities and classics. Whereas the Sega CD version wasn't too bad, the PC Engine version was very poorly mastered. Quiet, middy, lacking any bass. It's now hugely improved.

TECHNICAL NOTES

I forgot to mention in the readme that all copies of "Auzal" from the Sega Mega CD soundtrack that I could find were full of glitches. Two hours of painstaking audio surgery later (I'm not kidding), the track now should have no "gaps" in it. It's a peculiar problem: either all copies out there on the net really have originated from the same ripped CD and the ripping failed or the original disc has these clicks! Considering the prices the game goes for on eBay, I don't think any of us are in a hurry to find out!

The audio for these soundtracks were taken from CD images of the game. I have rearranged the tracklist to make for a better listen as an "album", but you could of course re-arrange them and put them back into a CD image if you wished.

Enjoy!

ADDENDUM

According to these websites, and the album they refer to, this music was actually specifically composed by Satoshi Miyashita:

He was a member of T's Music so it is still technically correct to use them in the artist field of the music tags, but the more particular of you may wish to change them.

Thanks a lot for your efforts - and making these rare gems available.

Some small nitpicks, though:
There's something that irked me on the fade-outs on Lord of Thunder - in many cases, they only Fade-out half the way and then the track ends. Maybe it's just me, but I found it annoying enough to edit the files to add a proper fade-out to them. Thanksfully you made the files available in FLAC so that was easily possible without loosing quality.
Another thing, which is related: two tracks of Lord of Thunder end with stopping the music only to restart the song during the last second of the track while the fade-out is in effect (Track 8 and 11) - this also happens on Track 8 on Winds of Thunder. That's also a thing I found very annoying personally, so I removed these "last second restarts while doing a fadeout on the track"-appearances by removing a second or so from the end - so the track stops when the music stops.

I'm not sure if issues like these are things you want to look out for in future projects or not but I thought it couldn't hurt to point it out? :)

It's kind of an artistic decision, really. With these two songs, yes, they might be better without fadeouts. I might go back and change those and update the archives. I have done this with a few tracks in some of the remasters where there are "hard stops", because it felt right, so if you try my other remasters you may notice that. Thanks for the ideas though, I do keep these things in mind. I've done so many edits and fades it's easy to miss things occasionally.
