Hey all,

I finally got around to cutting together the film version of "The Hunt" from John Williams' The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Enjoy!

Lots of sudden, hard edits in this. Very jarring. It may be a good representation of the film edit, but it doesn't translate well outside of it. Why is this preferable or even a good addition to the non-chopped up cues on the albums?

Some of us like "Film Versions" of tracks as it allows us to watch the movie in our heads while listening to the soundtrack.

When exactly does this play in the film?

This. So much. Why have I never used this as a reason when explaining why I prefer film edits?

So you all even like the horrible edits for the so called "Ultimate Edition" of The Phantom Menace?

GREAT WORK... as long as all the little edits match the film I have no complaints.

You have anymore film versions on the way?

Even at the cost of the music itself? This is one area of fandom that escapes me. I'm all for listening to a score because it reminds me of the film, but why would you WANT the bad editing kept?

yes yes yes. sorry but yes. Also, those "suites" are all in the bonus content so you can listen to them as well. I just hate having to wonder or go back and forth in my head to match the music with the movie scene. Its a pet peeve of mine. In my edits i have the film versions first so i can watch the movie then the suites and alternates afterwards to hear the composers preference. Works well for me.

and its not bad editing, its editing, like an image or sound effect. Its how the score was edited during post production. It happens, film isnt an opera, which is edited before final show as well. It can be jarring but it has its purpose. :)

Sometimes the editing is jarring, sometimes not. It all depends.
