i liked the battle system - wasnt as complicated as some of the other FFs - but saying that it didnt give too much room for manouvre.
....er so thats a 50/50 on that one. o_^

i didn't like the battle system at all. i would much prefer FFX battle system.

I liked the battle system pretty well, I guess I'd say I'm 50/50 like Midnight_Blue.

It was all right, I rather enjoyed FFX's system though.

I liked the hectic battle feel it gave, and that you could stall peoples moves, overall I thought it was pretty great, other than the fact that almost every battle in the game can be won by holding down X.

No, it is not going to be the same battle system for FF12. See my post in the Final Fantasy XII forum.

I didn't like the battle system, not at all.
1. There was a system of changing abilities/stats by doing Sailor Moon style changes of clothing, if you can call the scant amount of material stretched onto 'YRP' clothing.
2. I personally prefer to plan out the battle thoughtfully and the pace annoyed me at times, I would slap my head in frustration.
3. Some of the dress-spheres were, frankly, too lame for my tastes. I have always despised singing as a mode of battle.
4. I was disappointed at the disappearance of the Sphere Grid, a very good system I thought.
I may think of some more later on but I have just learned that my Gran died.

I probably liked it better than FFX's, though X's battles are easier. The lack of Overdrives is a bitch, though.

What happened to Rikku's overdrive? Did she forget?

Squiggly
05-02-2005, 12:59 PM
Yeah and what about Yuna, has she forgot how to double-spell Ultima for one mp?

Agent0042
05-03-2005, 01:35 AM
Um, er... she didn't forget, she never knew. After all, it is possible to beat FFX without ever activating a single node on the Sphere Grid. :D

can you. i did not think you could complete 10 by not activerating any nods on the sphere grid

Irvine_All_the_Way
05-05-2005, 01:50 AM
That would be hard...I can barely beat it activating every node :) (Between the 7 characters not with each one)

I know, I'm being kind of facetious because it's not how one would normally play, but it is possible. Head on over to the FFX section of GameFAQs and look at the No Aeons / No Sphere Grid / No Customization challenge guide (NANSNC) and you'll see what I mean. I have completed the challenge and can vouch that it, is in fact, 100% possible to beat FFX without activating a single node on the Sphere Grid.

I loved X-2's battle system. The fast pace made the battles much more challenging, realistic and even more fun than the previous installments. I love the fact that you could kill the opponent as they were running towards you, and that all 3 characters could gang up on an enemy at the same time, ive always hoped they would implement something like this and am glad that they did.

Dont get me wrong, I liked the old system as well, but X-2 is superior imo.

So you stick by it that you beat the game without one (apart from those already activated) sphere activated. That you beat all the seymours, that flying carpet thing and that you could defeat Sin on your ship in time so that he didn't do his ultimate attack? Kinda hard to believe, mate.

Well with the battle system i liked it but i agree with squiggly.

The dresspheres were kinda sailor monny transformation types.

And sometimes it was just 2 damn fast for me.

Squiggly --- yes, I do stick by that and the mechanics are all explained in that GameFAQs guide that I mentioned. Since we are off-the-subject, go ahead and PM me if you have any further questions about it. Yes, the Seymours, yes Evrae, Yes, Sin and Jecht / Braska's Final Aeon too.

Yeah, if you dont want to level up very quick...and isnt that a major part of the game.. yes. Plus thats probly the only reason some ppl thought it was boring.

but its going to be the same battle systme for 12

I didnt kno that, that's very cool.

EVERYONE! It is not the same battle system as in FFX-2 in the next FF. It's totally different. I found the battle system in FFX-2 OK. Didn't really like the dressphere system though.

Yeah i cant remember what thread it was but yesterday i posted a definite source. The system will be called ADB active dimension battle..you controll each person, you see enemys before battle, and not more glass shattering...bla bla bla check it out at www.ffxii.net or sumthin like that. ITs totally diff. though it does still have the ATB bar. its nothing like ANY other battle system. new new new!
