How is it extended? What did you use to lengthen it?

There's a similar part in the End Credits ("Blade Runner"). Maybe he managed to combine them and make a more "quiet" ending using another cues.
The scene where that beatiful moment of "Mesa" is played is one of my favourite of the film.

When K flies / drives with Joi to San Diego and they're over the Sea Wall.
The scene where "Mesa" plays in the film.

Only track I used is Mesa, nothing else. I wanted to use also end credits track, but I didn't get any idea, how to use it.

Maybe I will share the link here, because I don't have much time to send it to everyone everyday ;)
However, I'm quite new here, so I'm not sure about this.

Such a great track. Looking forward to hearing how you extended it.

Hmm. Thanks for the share. Great work!
I'm also fascinated by "Mesa", as it's the one melodic synth track from the movie that will become iconic. I also really like "Seawall" - I'm really happy the last scenes are slathered in the synth goodness.... :zilla:

No, I meant what other material did you use to make it longer. What was the source. All we have is the OST, nothing else.

Hold up. This is extended by only 18 seconds? I'd hardly call that "extended". More like "alternate".

Only Mesa track is used.

Oh, I see. I cut the third section of the track, it was too dark for me, so yeah, it's more "alternate", as you've written.
I think that most of people would listen to this track because of middle section, and that's the one, which is "extended".
With the third section, this track would have.... little over 5 minutes, I think?

Imperivm

I don't think the third section is too dark... it's plain awful, especially when it's near the best part of the score (the middle section). Unfortunately, there's not much to be done, except for some loops.

Thanks for your work, though it's not as I was expecting. The unsolvable problem is that both in "Mesa" and "Blade Runner", the section ends in a way that it's impossible to work with. Maybe you could use other quieter cues like "Rain", "Joi" to make a proper edit that could be more listenable.

I don't want to promise anything, cause I'm amateur, and I still take it more like hobby, when I have time to try something. But I'll think about it...

Of course, do as you want.
Maybe someone else could try that.
Or maybe myself...

Thanks! Liked the edit. Love the track! There has been some cynicism towards this soundtrack and whilst I understand, I think it gave 2049 as equally a powerful atmosphere as Tangelos gave to the original. It's different. It's a different movie from its predecessor.

Agree, I think sometimes people forget that it's SOUNDtrack, not a symphony. It's great soundtrack.

New edit coming soon ;)

I spend some time on it, here is a link for 'more' extended version:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pscWDOwB_Ao
It's almost finished, but final version will be shorter little bit (cause 8 minutes is hell-long), and I will add few details (piano tones etc.)

DAKoftheOTA
10-31-2017, 02:34 PM
I can't even tell you how much 8 minutes isn't "hell-long". My Man of Steel suite runs 30 minutes. The longer, the better.
