Here you can post your favorite song from Final Fantasy XI, this is one of the FFs with better music in general.
I have two favorite songs, Voyager and Recollection

Although I haven't played enough of FFXI to be famillar with the entire OST (as I don't want to spoil it for myself), some of my favourite pieces that I do know are:

Crystal Prelude - Hey! It's the Prelude! What more needs to be said?

Main Title Theme (I think that's what it's called) - A rousing, stirring march, that really sets the scene for the rest of the game.

Vana'diel March - The music that plays when you start creating your character, I first heard this on a FFXI demo movie I downloaded, and I love it. Full of spirit and promise of adventures to come, this stirring march also features a few chords of the Prelude hidden away, making it feel like you really are setting off into a proper FF adventure...

The Federation of Windurst - Symbolising Windurst's close ties with nature, this medley of primitive woodwinds and percussion, and raw, earthy sounds really suits the leafy, green atmosphere of the mage capital of Vana'diel.

Mhaura - Harking back to the 'town themes' of the FF games of old, this soft soothing theme on guitar, strings, flute and accordion gives a quiet, almost sad, feeling. It brings to mind some tracks from the rare FF arranged albums FFIII Eternal Legend of the Wind, and FFIV Celtic Moon, especially the tracks The Water Maiden and Troian Beauty.

Battle Theme 2 - Although the battle themes in FFXI get repetative, I don't mind the second one for solo battles (which starts playing in battle after the first one has completed), and it is naturally spontaneous, rythmical, and stirring.

That, and the orchestral piece that plays during the awesome opening movie sequence.

I pretty much like anything from Promathia areas. The battle music is a nice refresh after going through the Zilart zones and can't get enough of Tavnazia.

I think the reason why most people end up saying Selbina over other tracks is because... they're still newbs and they're stuck in Valkurm Dunes.

As I've been making my way through the game, I think I'll add a few more to my previous list:

Gustaberg - Taking a few tips of the hat towards FFVIII's The Salt Flats, this sombre, atmospheric piece suits the rocky, broken badlands surrounding Bastok to a tea. And it's fast becoming one of my favourite FFXI pieces too...

Metalworks - You'd think a piece of music that is a theme of an industrial foundry would be a dark, oppressive ambient industrial/techno piece, but no. The theme of Bastok's industrial/government centre, is in fact, a rousing, inspiring millitary march, perhaps owing to Cid's technolgical prowress that helped turned the tide of battle in the Great War (and who has his lab located in the same complex). Good stuff.

Ronfaure - A sad, quiet, medieval piece on mandolin, flutes, and strings, this really brings to mind images of a Shakespere-like bard, sitting on a rock strumming his lyre or playing a pipe, giving the melody a beautiful, and somewhat haunting, dream-like quality.

The Kingdom of San d'Oria - The theme of the Elvaan capital, this is a rousing Baroquesque millitary march on percussion, bagpipes, woodwind and strings, and really suits the quaint, Middle-Ages feel of the city of San d'Oria.

Reach level 30 and try doing Promvyions. This will unlock the Tavnazian region, which is apart of the Chains of Promathia Expansion. The music over there just rocks. :3 Even the battle music gets you a hell of a lot more pumped up.

... However, I recommend you don't actually GO to the Tavnazian region at 30... you'll die. :3

Heh I actually liked Selbina throught my time playing, and I did have promy stuff. It's just such a wonderful little departure from all the other serious music. You run around through the whole game hearing big orchestras and shit and then walk into Selbina and get a bouncy, energetic, irish jig-like tune. It's really nice.

Anywho, I like the music in Zi'tah and most of the Tu'lia areas. The funny thing is, I actually didn't even play the game with the BGM turned up at all for months, people started talking about how nice some music was and I'd just be like "errmm.." I usualy played with my own music on winamp playing so I had no idea what any of it sounded like for a long time.
