Intrada, Varese and La-La Land are three labels to follow on social media. Subscribe to their mailing list and be up to date on the newest releases. There. Problem solved. It just sucks that this edition (which is Intrada) was just released on Tuesday and now it's already here, where everyone can get it for free. If we want more editions like this, they need to sell. And sell well. I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think Horner's wife profits a certain percentage from the sales since he's no longer wth us.

Thank you for making me aware of this. In doing some reading, they cut the score cue Troy that appeared on the original album. Reasons seem vague online as to why from rumors to licensing issues or copyright claims because its derived from another composers work. And if Intrada wants a "Troy" score to sell really well....release the Yared version. ;-)

I listened to the entire double CD yesterday... it's a quiet disappointing for me...

In fact, some tracks are still missing. Curiosly, some tracks from the beginning of the movie. Hope it's just a big mistake from INTRADA !!!

- Paris & Briseis's last night, before he goes back to Troy
- Paris & Hector goes to Troy in boat
- Achille talks with his mother, before to go at war
- Helen is arriving to Troy (the track "TROY" from the original OST)

From there ...the score is COMPLETE.

But why those tracks are missing, especially the track "Troy" we already have on the original OST ? ...

We definitly need a new fan made, with a ripp of the tracks I mentionned :) We don't have a BluRay edition for the theatrical version in Europe.... Have you got one in America ? ;)

That longer version of 'Troy' is on the end credits of the director's cut.

It's music for that scene, but there's no dialogue because they used it to replace the song "Remember" for the end credits of the Director's cut so the music is unedited and clean.

I just finished listening this complete version and I must say (as usual with James Horner) its a huge improvement over the original CD release. I can't believe the huge amount of awesome music that wasn't included in the first release of the soundtrack. I'm so happy about this new Intrada version finally doing justice to Horner's work. The re-master is also very impressive compared with the original

Especially since these specialty labels tend to be averse to releasing said soundtracks digitally, which would have been fine in, say, 2010 or 2009, is now rapidly undermining their own industry in 2017. Like, yeah, an iTunes release of, say, the six disc Spartacus set might not hit number 1 on the iTunes charts, but it would certainly sell more than the hard-copies sadly, simply because not many people outside of specialty collectors can afford to spend upwards of $70 or more on a soundtrack to a 50 year old movie.

Labels like Intrada or FSM really should start releasing the stuff digitally and physically, like what La La Land Records does for many of their soundtrack releases.

Maybe it's a rights issue, I don't know.

Exactly, and as a result of that, it's entirely up to the film studios and their own music divisions to offer these scores as digital downloads. LLL and the like don't have any say in that, except for maybe Varese. That's why whenever they're asked about it, they have the attitude - rightfully so - of "not our problem".
