mine would be rinoa from ff8 because she's so cool and she speaks her mind. she opened squall's cold heart to its true feelings. plus, she's also cute and beautiful.

My favorite heroine is Yuna from FFX (not the b!tch from FFX-2) She decided to save the world even if she knows that she has to die and because she has to die she learns to face dead. That's a very heavy weight she has to carri with (The Spring FMV makes me cry!!!)

why does evry1 think aeris SACRIFICED herself to help save the world...?

i mean..how did she know big bad sephy was gonna come down and stab her ass..hmm?

she could have left b4 she was killed, sephy didnt exactly hide his presents...he did have cloud try and kill her so she probably knew she was gonna die. not to mention she would have known that sephy was gonna know that she was trying to summon holy, after all sephy life force was in life stream

I really can't pick just one... but I'd have to say it's a toss up between Terra, Rinoa, and Yuna. I loved all of their characters and roles throughout the games. They really stuck with me, and I can relate to them in one way or another.

Aerith is definietly my favourite because she doesn't do that annoying female thing of always relying on her big tough man to save her. You know the "Superman help me" crap.
She is strong without becoming too bossy and cold. She still retains her warm, loving feminine side. She contributes greatly to the game and doesn't becomen a wet piece of wallpaper for the males to look good against. You know what I mean, the whole "I'm macho and important while you're just an air headded doll to protect" thing.
I also like her voice and the way she carries herself with such grace.

None, female characters in FF are atrocious most of the times.

Celes would be the only candidate to be my fauvorite FF heroine.
Aerith close 2nd.

Actually I agree with this. There are a few exceptions of course, but in general they seem so weak and dependent on the males for support. However since FFVII they do tend to be stronger and more independent. Terra in FFVI was ok, but well....I didn't really like her (I would say that most people were backing Kefka in this one lol. :))

That's precisely why I like Lightning so much :) And Ashe from XII; I don't take to the whole 'damsel in distress' kinda thing too much. Even Rydia from IV is pretty self-sufficient. Not that the rest of the females are poor characters by any means, but the games up until XII would sorta lead some people to see SE as being a tad narrow-minded.

From the classic FF's Celes takes the cake to me, on being independent & with great attitude, her militaristic traits enforces her perspective on the party.

Terra was just so much convoulted with herself, that you have to deal with that the first half of the game & she's still in that kind of position even after the first half. She wasn't forged to be a leader. It feels forced by the end of the game. That's why I didn't liked the Terra character that much.

Rydia was just a child the first time, but then you see a great development. But it feels that when she appears again, seems to be that she was kinda confined on the Summoner's Den. An Elegant Magical Blade completely sharp for the Quest of purifying the Moon & the Earth from the Eldritch Evil that Lurks in the Moon.

What I like about Aerith is that her character despite being so femenine, it charges some strong will, courage & Conciousness about her role on the Journey. It builds up pretty well by the end. She was the only person that didn't lose her mind at extreme circumstances.

I thought that Ashe was just O.K, she's pretty bitchy & clumsy, by the time when she opens her mouth I literally wanted to smash her face & don't get me started with the "Don't interrupt me" bullshit.

OMG CELES!!! How could I forget Celes?!?!?! Yes, her too :D And on the subject of Aerith she always annoyed me for some reason I have no words to describe; I dunno if it was her personality or just the simple fact that the best healer you get the whole game has to die and there's no bringing her back. She can get smashed with meteors, doused with flames, struck by lightning, drowned in water, frozen in ice, shot, sliced, even bitten by dangerous animals in the woods and on the plains and all it took was one simple Phoenix Down to make her good as new again. But I'll be damned if anything's gonna revive her from a sword through the heart. Now, as for Parasite Evil, I will take your request under consideration, my friend; I've been wanting to play that for ages now, and it's high time I did!

I can't choose between Celes and Terra. Others had been nothing but a romantic interest and hindrance to the main character. they don't deserved to be called heroines.

Hindrance to the main character up until V maybe, then we can jump to VIII & IX. That's kinda the truth...

But in VII believe me Aerith was not a Hindrance to Cloud at all...
In VI Terra & Kefka were the Hindrance of the whole game IMO, but it doesn't ruin it... xD
In IV Rosa a Hindrance/Love Interest, YES!.
Rydia a Hindrance... Not at all, just maybe when she was a child, but it couldn't be helped, due to how evolves the plot, she turns to be an amazing character by the end.
