Anyone know what happened to this site? It's been down over 2 weeks now. I know that it has gone down in the past, but never this long.

I've been wondering about this as well. I haven't been a member of that site as long as I have on the Shrine so I don't know if this type of lengthy shutdown has happened before on paradox or if it means something more serious! I mostly use paradox for trailer music or certain scores no longer permitted on shrine. Only time will tell if it's coming back unless someone else knows what caused the disappearance. Thanks and have a safe holiday everyone!

Wouldn't know. It's banned in the UK.

I browse it but never get anything because they're all about paid links there which are painfully slow. To each their own with that stuff.

Yeah, that was one of the things I hated about them, and BOLT as well. They all wanted me to get premium accounts with Rapidgator and Uploaded! Rapidgator is the worse of the bunch.

Their server relied heavily on donations. Maybe there just wasn't enough to pay the bills. Maybe the domain was seized after the right people got complaints about copyright infringement.

Personally, I see Heraclitus's heavy use of paradox, particularly in metaphysics, as indicating he has much more in common with ancient Indian and Chinese philosophy than that of the Ionian naturalists. While it seems difficult to imagine Heraclitus could have had actual contact with cultures that far to the east, I sometimes wonder if his philosophy was not an offshoot of a similar root more common to the areas between them. At any rate, I find it absurd to suggest that what little we have of his writings indicate he believed in a literal sense that fire was the basic element of all things as Thales believed about water and Anaximander about the Apeiron. Heraclitus's references to fire are in my opinion clearly metaphor.
