Welcome Jenova54. Yeah i think Ifrit is the best too. He looks cool and he's quite tough and has got a cool overdrive. I also like him from FF7 and FF8.

i like shiva and yojimbo but i personally think that the magus sisters are cooler cuz you don't have to teach them abilities cuz they know it already and their special attacks(especially mindy's passado) are so strong and awesome!

Actually, the stats of Yuna and whether or not you use the Summoner's and Aeon's Soul are what make an Aeon "The Best". A better question would be, what is your favorite Aeon. My favorite Aeon would be Bahamut. Although, I am not sure of the exact reason why. It is possibly the fact that he is a dragon or his special move, Impulse. This is because when when here stats are so high, it is pointless to attack each feind individually. Attacking them altogether is much more efficient.
Ifrit come in second yet not even near my affection for Bahamut. His elemental strength (or weakness depending on how you look at) of fire is what sets him apart from the other two elemental Aeons for me. His entrance from Hell and his burning overdrive look graphically apeasing. On the other hand, Ifrit's unique attack, Meteor Strike, has no special effect and has a slight delay time. This is just my opinion.

My favorite is Anima, but in monster arena battles i always use the magus sisters first (mostly because of mindy's passado, mostly). Anima's cool just cuz she bleeds from her eye when she uses Pain, which can't miss (as far as i'm aware) and when yuna's developed enough, Pain always does 99,999 damage.

My favorite is Anima. It looks dangerous, it is dangerous. The attacks are great. I do almost all my battles at the moster arena with Anima. ;)

hm....hard one...i love them all! except magus sisters, ixion, and yojimbo. magus sisters sometimes ignore you....(taking a break, my ass.)ixion was dumb, and you have to pay yojimbo! but, i think i like anima just a wee bit better than the others, although shiva is right up there.
all my aeons could do 99,999 attack and i think some got to 99,999 HP. anima was one, and i think bahamut....but, i could be wrong, i haven't played in a while.

Bahamut's overdrive was cool and so was Shivas, but Ifrit beats them all.

I like Yojimbo cos his name sounds cool. Also i use the zanmato cheat (give him 1756 gil) and he usually uses zanmato and that attack kills any enemy no matter what immmunitys it has

Yeah Yojimbo was cool, at first I laughed at him coz i thought he looked a bit crap but then he killed the dark aeon sisters for me when i was getting my ass kicked and near death (zanmato rules) so he gaind alot of respect but the one I prefer the most was anima as it just looked realy cool as did it's limit cool background story aswel and its quite hard to get if you don't now how (Darn Trial secret treasure chests)

the thing on bahamuts back wasn't a wheel, it was an ionic charge. it drew atoms from the air which bahamut then puked over the enemy.

Lol to get the aeons to do the massive dmg unlock the ultimate weapons and just keep on leveling yuna up. They'll be doing 99,999 dmg in no time. O:]

Yea, I know about the break damage limit features on the ultimate weapons, but I didn't know the damage could go that high. I think I only got it up to 20k before.

it can go to 99,999 but not 100,000. oh, and to level up the aeons, i think it corresponds to getting the people's ultimate weapons. for example, when you get Yuna's weapon and upgrade it with the sigil(or is the crest?whatever.), then valefor can break damage and HP limit. i think lulu is for shiva, wakka is for ifrit, kihmari is for ixion, and the rest can do it on their own. not sure about this. though.

I LOVED anima. She was GREAT. The Magus sisters were cool too. And shiva, i loved her.

Ixion and Valefor annoyed me and Ifrit didn't feel right.

Yojimbo was funny with his little dog.

Yojimbo. In the PAL Version there is a way to make him do Zanmato, either give him 1756 Gil and let him do Wakisashi. If he does not kill the enemy, and he gets another turn next, he will use Zanmato for free (There is only a 32% chance of this happening though) The other way is to keep giving him 256 Gil every time you summon him. Theoretically because it is a multiple of 8 and 2 (The basic numbers in computing) there is a glitch in the game (Apparently, don't hold me to this) where he will use Zanmato for free when you have done so many battles of him with 256 Gil

Ifrit for me, classic choice but he's always so cool though I do have a fondness for Shiva, though Anima was amazing.

Aeon.... Ixion, it's cool, but Anima was the ,most powerful, Magus Sisters are very incertain so i don't like them much

magus sister of course. their attack are just powerfull. too powerfull. bahamut will in next, and valefor is the 3. maybe most gamer thing that valefor is the weakess aeon but when his attack reach 150 , it will destroys braska final aeon(sir jecht) in 1 attack.

I personally believe Shiva is the best aeon. Not only does she look great, but she maxes out way before the other aeons and she's much faster than them too (before they max out). And her OD is dazzling!

Too bad you can't use Mindy seperately, and be able to control her. Imagine how much damage multile Passado's can do!!

Ah yes Mindy was quite usefull Vivi FF but you can not deny the amazing power of maxed out stats and quick hit.

Quick Hit is not so great in the PAL/International version. It pales in comparison to the NA version. Passado rocks any low-ish Defence enemy with 255 Strength and constant criticals.

But yeah, I agree with you. Aeons become insginificant as you train your characters. It's tons better to use Quick Hit many times, doing 99999 w/3 characters w/255 Agility then to summon a single aeon (or a trio that can't do anything you want, especially qucik hit) and have them fight.

If Passado manages 99999 every hit, then it would be better than Quick Hit. Against Nemesis, Quick Hit just manages to pull in front though (if not under Haste). Under Haste Quick Hit is quite a bit better than Passado.

I only really used the the aeons when my characters were too weak to fight the arena creations.

Ah whenever I face a tough oppoment for "spheres" or whatnot I will always uses Hastega and have my characters use quick hit. Good strategy on some enemys.

Bahamut for me. he got leavelled up something decent and once he got his break damage limit he started becoming more valueable. but aeons eventually became useless once my characters were waaaay sotrnger than them. but they are good for sucking up the limit breaks of dark aeons. yojimbo was also pretty sweet though. handy, especially since he had the one hit on dark aeons if you were lazy.

Well technically they're all the same once you max out their stats, so it's more personal preference on their looks. I like Ifrit the best, he looks like a dog and is very strong even at lower levels.

Ditto. The key to lots of gil is beating the monsters in the arena over and over and selling the great Weopons the leave behind. Turn the time to summon on short, use Anima, and you can win almost any moster in about a min.. Thats another reason hes my favorite.

At maxed out stats, Anima's overdrive is the best in the game, better then the Magus Sisters' one. She will dish out 13 hits with Break Damage Limit worth 99.999 each hit (multiple targets at the same time aswell) which equals nearly 1.3 million HP worth of damage.

Bahumut looks shithouse in my opinion because of those colourful wings. It seriously destroys that I'm-am-gonna-kill-you-before-you-touch-me feel of his. Anyway that cool pose he stands in makes up for it i guess.

Anima's Pain ignores Magic Defence, meaning it can do 99,999 against all fiends once her Magic hits 140. Against Jumbo Flan (who is immune to physical damage), it's the best thing to use to defeat it when you're raising your Magic.

Other Special attacks are less useful once you progress through the game, but they can have their uses due to the added effects of each one.

Pain is Anima's Special Attack, and that hits once. Oblivion is Anima's overdrive, and in the PAL/International versions it hits 16 times, although its overall power is less than in the NA version.

Valefor is damn useful in the first 1/3 of the game because Energy Blast does about 2500-3000 damage when you first get it.

Once you get Bahamut, though, he's the strongest aeon until you get the airship.

But at the end of the game, the best aeon to use is the Magus Sisters. There's three of them, so it's really hard for them to fall.

Besides, Passado does 99,999 damage x 16. Wakka's Attack Reels only does max of 12 hits.

But magus sisters look like roadkill... I always prefered Ifrit, eve though he's not that great. Just for the looks. As for battle, Yojimbo or Magussisters

Stats and non-specific abilitites (such as Firaga) are irrelevant since most of the Aeons can learn the abilities and ALL of them can get ~255 to all of their stats (keeping in mind their stats are based off of Yuna's with varying modifiers).

When the stats are this high, all of the special attacks and Overdrives are going to do 99,999 damage anyway.

Valefor and the Magus Sisters probably have the easiest time of it. Reason: turn frequency. It is the end-all and be-all of FFX thanks to its broken CTB battle system. Valefor can inflict Delay with its special attack and said attack has extremely quick recovery (keep in mind it's doing 99,999 in my case, just like all the other ones), and there are -THREE- people acting at once when you use the Magus Sisters instead of one. But, the Magus Sisters are difficult to control. Also, Valefor's getting two Overdrives is nice for when you want to adjust power vs. delay time (which can kill an Aeon if you're not careful). Valefor is non-elemental, but that doesn't matter much since there are others. Lastly, this summon seems to have the most plot significance (I loved the scene at Bevelle, that was neat).

Ugly summons rule :p And what? In my version (international) anima DOES inflict 3 million dmg with Oblivion. Just try to set the movies on short mode, ull see then.

i liked yojimbo cause of his mercenary attitude it was pretty wicked. The whole thing about paying him more for better attacks though. My yojimbo i would just pay him 1 gold and watch the randomness. Still his varying attacks some of them were pretty intense. Shiva would be 2nd i guess cause of her icy demeanor that and her speed. Diamond dust overdrive was very nice.

Shiva was my favorite cause she evaded most attacks by the end and could easily cure herself (like Ixion and Ifrit) from the beginning of the game. Plus her character design could not be beat...she was gorgeous!

Anima was a close second though cause her history was interesting and her overdrive was incredible.

Specially Anima, I love her =D

I think Odin is really cool in FFVIII & FFIX; Bahamut looks great in FFX, Shiva too but Odin is still my favorite one.

My fav is Shiva, followed by Bahamut.

In FFX, my favourites are Valefor and Ixion (ok theyre not the best but I liked new aeons), but the best in the game is The Magus Sisters.

Although Shiva, Ifrit and Bahamut are good, theyve gotten a little old and predictable IMO.

Overall my favourites include: Shiva, Ramuh, Valefor, Leviathan and Madeen.

I've always liked bahamut the best.
Strength-wise? Definitely the magus sisters.

And Anima's good, but just too creepy for my liking...

If it came down to it, I'd go with Neo Bahamut and Anima.

Bahamut is the best Aeon in FFX because it gains more overall than any others.

When Yuna moves around the Sphere Grid and ups her stats, the Aeons get a percentage of that; they also get an increase based on how many enemies you've defeated. There's a formula for it that determines each stat - let's use ATK right now. The product of the formula, for Bahamut, is multiplied by 100. Only Anima (120) and the Magus Sisters gain more in specific areas.

While Anima gets more in ATK and DEF, she is also very low on SPD and EVA. The Magus Sisters get more in all categories, but they are impossible to control. Bahamut has the best balance in all categories while being fully controllable.

Why, my Bahamut is so beefed I can almost defeat Nemesis with him. He gets about four attacks in for 99999 HP each before Nemesis attacks, and he can survive most of his attacks.

Well, you could beef up any aeon by giving it the right kind and right amount of spheres.

I like Shiva but I prefer Anima The magnus sisters were a WTF moment for me i think Bahamut was great also Valefor was quite weak but helped me out in a few battles ifrit was crap ixion was quite cool and yojimbo is pretty good its shame about zanmato it should be called "overdrive for noobs".

I like Shiva and Ixion the best personally. ^_^

The Magus Sisters were the most powerful but'd say that Bahamut is my favorite. Him being a Dragon and all, his Megaflare overdrive, and the fact that he's been used in most Final Fantasy games.

The Aeons are only very helpful at the beginning. Once your characters have break HP and break Damage Limit, you do not really need the aeons anymore. I did use them to kill Nemisis though. Only so my actual characters would not be sacrificed to Armagedon.

Out of everything, including lady yunalesca and sin I think I was most intimidated when I first saw anima. He rules.

My favourite is Valefor. Everybody always undermines the first aeons power. Anyway, my first play through, he killed Braska's Final Aeon with a whopping 30k overdrive hit with an Energy RAY. When my Bahamut was doing a crap 23k, and Anima doing a low 15k.

Anima looked really pimp when I first saw him in the beggining of the story. He was in that scene at the blitzball stadium killing/raping everything. And his overdrive is cool, but weird.

Valefor wasn't exacly the best aeon for me throughout the game... kinda crap aeon

Ixion and Shiva cause they're fast, and Diamond Dust is awesome! *snap, BOOM!*

I liked the Magus Sisters cause they were my cheating device when training in the Omega Ruins. They can act as a whole team even if you can't control them directly.

I think Valefor is my favourite, and the one I like best. When it comes to who's best in battle, though, I would say Ifrit, as he is strong and cabable of healing himself.

Valefor's energy blast was awesome, and kicked ass when fighting against anything difficult in the beginning, especially Sin's Fin at the beginning. Fast work.

I loved using Ifrit because he's fire, im a pyro, and you can heal him with Fire, Fira or Firaga. ^_^

Bahamut and Anima were cool, but the beginners are awesome as well.

No, with the "special" weapons and all their special stuff, you can break the damage limit of specific aeons. I didn't really keep track of which is which, but I do know Onion Knight is for Shiva's damage limit. I still havent gotten her stuff yet... The lightning shit is so annoying...

Best Aeon... It depends..

I always use Shiva, part of the reason is that she joins early in the game. Shiva is one of the summons that had kept on re-appearing since FF7.. Her ice element attacks are quite effective against certain boss-level monsters.

In terms of which aeon is most powerful, it will be a three-way battle between Yojimbo, Bahamut, and Anima. I never got Anima, so I don't know about the details. Yojimbo is amazing, only if you have almost an infinite amount of gil, if not.. He is useless. Bahamut would be the best choice.

The only reason I would use Bahamut is that it has high HP and that its Mega Flare attack is the strongest of all with the exception of Yojimbo's most expensive final attack that can do instant death to even bosses. However, to get Yojimbo to do that, you must pay him with at least 3 million gils. That's just not worth it, if not an amount that I cannot be obtained.

Anima because her overdrive Chaos-D (Chaos-D is the german name, I don't know the english one) is very strong. Especially with maxed stats

Anima is a "she" not a he.and she is my favorite aeon.

Anima is by far the best. Not only does she have a whooping powerful overdrive that is capable of inflicting over 40,000 points of damage, but the special skill pain can easily break the damage limit. By far the best aeon in the game.

Bahamut is a strong second. He is really powerful, and megaflare can easily break the damage limit. On the downside, he's kind of slow unless you teach him haste.

My favorite is of course, Yojimbo. He's got style, He's got speed, and he's got a cute little doggie. LoL No seriously though, He has 3 dangerous special movies and one of them could take anything out in 1 hit.
Daigoro: Yojimbo's dog attacks the opponent.
Kozuka: Moderate Dmage with Yojimbo throwing three knives at his oponent.
Wakizashi: High Damage with A giant slash of Yojimbo's sword.
Zanmato: Instant kill of almost any enemy, since Yojimbo uses his famous blade to chop of the heads of all of his oponents.

its really difficult to do yojimbo's zanmoto.i've never done it.

Yojimbo has to be the best because he can kill anyone with a single attack!(zanmota) he also looks so cool. I also like anima and bahamut.

anima is cool but not as cool as yojimbo, the guy knows wat he is doing. he did zanmato for me first time i called him (i paid 10 million gil just to see his move then reset my console hehehe) whoever thought of yojimbo must also be cool.

i think we can all agree that yuna is the most badass character since she's the only one who can summon all these dudes

honestly in some battles i just made everyone defend or cast hide and whimper whilst i waited for yuna's turn

I'd go with the Magus Sisters they rock if you have them with proper stats.

I don't like the Magus Sisters cos if one of them dies you can't use the Overdrive.

It was a tie between the Magus Sisters and Anima. I would always use the Magus Sisters because I thought it was awesome that they were bugs. heheh. I also felt accomplished getting them for some reason. Anima just looks awesome. I can't really pick between the two

I will admit Anima is really awesome in the game. Overdrive is just crazy and your right Slavka but like I said give them proper stats and they shoulden't die on you. But also Aji is right they are both awesome and hard to choose between the two.

By far my favourite Aeon always has been, and always will be, IFRIT!
I loved him as a boss, as a 'Summoning Beast', as a 'Summon', and now as an 'Aeon'!

I only wonder what the future holds for the great red giant...
FFXII has already turned its back on the classic Summons...

Well actually, you don't need both of the Celestial items to get Break HP Damage and Limit. I only had the Venus Crest for Shiva, and her HP and damage went over the limit. I think you just need one of them along with the weapon, and then go to the Macalania Forest orb thing to achieve some of its power. I also think just having the weapon Breaks HP/Damage limit.

Anyway, my favorite aeon is Shiva. She is fast and deals lots of damage, and her Overdrive is just cool to watch.

I favor Anima. I mean, when you get it (her), she has more hp then any other aeon when you first get them, she already breaks the damage limit, and has the most powerful overdrive.
