There's no need to be afraid: While the titles of these movies from the 1940s and 50s may seem
frightfully Finnish, the musical style is very similar to that in Hollywood at that time. Some of the
composers featured in this collection were "film music specialists" (like Olli, Attinen, Sonninen, Karki,
and Malnsten), others were notable 20th century classical composers in Finland (like Englund,
Madetoja, and Haapalainen).
