ok..i know the reactor got blown up, and the town burned down...but..why are they still poor?

what mainly confuses me, is that, Corel is the only way to get to the Gold Saucer...

and you would think..with traffic like that, they would get tons of money...@_@

They have nothing left, not even coal. And why should Gold Saucer affect Corel?

People would'nt want to waste money in Corel that they could spend at the Gold Saucer. There's your answer lol!

You silly little children - Corel is poor because Shinra burned down the whole village a few years ago, and the village has yet to recover to it's former status, that's why they work very hard on it. But since no one would spend money on such a town, Corel is still poor. Simple.

did you read the first entry? we know that, but clanotheduck wanted to know why they are when they are right next to the Gold Saucer, loads of people go there so there would be lots of people that would go through Corel and maybe buy something, but what i also think since everything is destroyed what do they have to sell?!

it's north corel...the town of corel is really under the gold saucer...after it burned to the ground, the gold saucer was built. the north corel area (containing the entrance to gold saucer) is just an area that the survivors gathered...constructed a village out of refuse from gold saucer... and attempt to live off of passing people.

I did read the first entry. Obviously, I should have read it once more. Or twice.

In that case, I agree with UltimateFFFan. Who would spend money on North Corel if the Gold Saucer is right next to it. (except the player himslef).

I think they can sell a few things because people have to go through there on the way to the Gold Saucer. But they can't rip peoples money off, just because they walk through there. If they did, Shinra would take the rest away from them or kill them. So, they don't have much of a choice. :(

And think about it, they can be happy that they don't have to leave this place. Shinra could also say they have to go, because they hurt peoples eyes (especially rich peoples eyes) on the way to the Gold Saucer. ;)
