I was watching G4tech tv (for those of you who don't know. its a video game channel) and i was watching icons, and they were talking about Final Fantasy (i've seen this one so many times but i forgot to make a post about it) anyways my point is that ALl the numberes are screwed up here in america. the only ones that are right are 7+ 1, 2, 3 were released in japan as like 4, 5, 6. I actually find it confusing.

Also they said that they ARE NOT stopping the series so far. one of the american spokesperson for square was talking about that they plan to go on as long as they can. "there never will be a final final fantasy" is what he said actually. its always getting updated, and it was just recently updated, so i guess they arne't stopping at 15, or whatever everyone is talking about. they may not be as awesome as they were with just square, but they will still kaap making them.

I already knew they werent going to stop making FF's. Because if they did I would kill all the producers and the directors and everyone that helped stop the FF series. (Im not being sarcastic)

... In America and PAL Territories, there were only three Final Fantasy games released before FF7 - FF1, FF2(e) and FF3(e). Final Fantasy I was the same here as in Japan, but we didn't get FF2(j) or FF3(j). The next Final Fantasy, our Final Fantasy 2, was actually Final Fantasy IV (Japan). We also didn't get FF5(j), and Final Fantasy VI (Japan) was released over here as Final Fantasy 3.

However, the games have since been re-released with their correct numbering system. Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls for example is Final Fantasy I and II as released in Japan. Also, Final Fantasy Anthology contains Final Fantasy V and VI as released in Japan.

That said, don't use G4tech as an avenue for accurate information. They're notoriously unreliable =/

No he isn't. He was dumb enough to post this on a Final Fantasy fan site. In other words, the odds were about a million to one that we didn't already know it.

Unless we dont spend our time surfing every final fantasy site. i know i dont. So this is the first time I heard it.

Use common sense. Just because you only just learned something, that's no reason to assume people on a forum dedicated to that topic won't know it already.

NO SHIT.
I never said that. Yet again: not EVERYbody knows it. Im not saying that some dont. Im saying that this could be new information to people such as ME.

So, hey, guess what?
Use common sense yourself before you automatically assume something. Not exactly every person is 100 percent up to date.

Why are there such angry people on this board. Why not be nice, it makes things that much easier, and you feel better when you say something nice.

Thank you.

Not so. I've tried it both ways and I've always experienced a queasy feeling in my stomach after being nice to people who don't deserve it. When I give them the treatment they obviously deserve, it's actually somewhat relaxing.

Everybody knows about the fucked up numbering... thing. And FF will probably end when SE does, so I daresay there will be a final game.

Anyways, this thread is redundant and not really in the right forum. I should have closed it a long time ago, but I didn't. So I won't.

Final Fantasy will never die, and everyone knows about the numeration problem... well not exactly a problem cuz now everyone calls ff games in their right order.
This forum has no sense, it is as if we are talking about "wow did you know that hi-potion restores more hp that potion? amazing!"

Regarding the numbers... I think other posters here have done that to death, so I won't comment on that. In regards to "There will never be a final Final Fantasy...

What I'm about to say will most probably get me flamed to kingdom come, but eh...

Saying that there will never be a FINAL Final Fantasy seems a little... pathetic to me. True, Final Fantasy saved Square's butt way back with the first FF game, but even Hironobu Sakaguchi (FF's creator, who left Square), stopped having any hands on work with the FF games after 7 (Even there, he only had a minor role in it). A friend of mine once said "All the FF games are too similiar anyway. They all feature a bad guy wanting to rule the world (or destroy it), and a bunch of heroes joining forces to defeat him and save the world."

In some ways I agree with him, in other I do not. But to say that something will never end is pointless. I admit, I love the FF games and I enjoy playing them (Except FFX and X-2), eventually Square will come to the end of the roadtrip it's been on, thanks to the FF games. NOTHING lasts forever, and Square's day in the sun, with FF, will eventually come.

And when FF crashes and burns, it'll be Breath of Fire's time to move in.

Of course they ar enot going to stop the final fantasy games bring in millions if not billions of cash for square how crazy would they have to be to say "yeah thats the final one" i am personally hoping they never stop and hope they beat Bill gates yearly income.
