This one was quite tedious to do but it's finally complete.

Features/Process:
+Unlike the previous OSV rendered from deprecated USFs, this rip is assembled from midis and soundfont like the newest DK64 and Bomberman 64 OSVs
+Re-tagged titles as usual with fixed tags
+Lower volume overall then the last rip to avoid excessive audio clipping
+Removed intrusive ambience from many tracks
+Many stage and hub tracks include separate phases both with and without ambience
+Vibrato on certain instruments should be similar to how they originally play (a step up from DK64)
+Re-created 2 alternative "Collect Jiggy" fanfares from Grant's "Banjo-Kazooie Betas" soundtrack
+Includes item jingles not featured in the previous OSV
-Lacks Beta tracks from the previous rip

Here's a comparison between the original OSV and this current version rip. (volume has been altered for a fairer comparison)
bkrtest.mp3 (https://app.box.com/s/4iwxyprsx3jc8bwxvyikmxbf57lsirmu)

Report if there are any significant errors with any songs (notes cutting out, clipping between loops, missing notes, etc)

Enjoy!

I applaud your patience and effort !!!!!, just two coverart tidbits I want to bring up:

-You forgot your little "Rip Courtesy of !!!!!" on the corner.

-If you get around re-doing Tooie, can I suggest inserting a Jigsaw pattern onto the gold background of the cover? Something akin to this:

This is Jiggy Gold! :D
I hope you can make the same treatment to Tooie! That game's USFs don't play quite right. :/

Thank you! :D

I'd like to see same treatment for most Rareware N64 era games.
Banjo Tooie, Diddy Kong Racing, Conker's Bad Fur Day at the top of the list.
Great stuff.

I have a few questions about this:
1. Isn't Gobi's Valley aquatics supposed to have a high hat in it?
2. 6-02 and 6-05 are switched around.
3. Why isn't Freezeezy Peak split into two tracks? Mumbo's Mountain had the treatment due to the Ticker's Tower drums and marching voice while Freezeezy Peak has a bell variation.
4. Why didn't you include the beta tracks?

1 & 3: I forgot
2: Whoops!
4: The quality of the beta tracks were worse then the USFs so I felt they didn't fit in the remastered OSV unless I could re-assemble them hence why I recreated the Jiggy beta tracks which weren't that much of a hassle to do

I'll get to updating those tracks soon as well as some others

Hey !!!!!, thanks so much for all the hard work. This OST (and DK64) are fantastic!

One thing I noticed, and correct me if I'm wrong, is that part of the instrumentation in Nabnut's House sounds like it's been adjusted up to a different key. I noticed it at the 1:00 mark. I have the earlier complete rip from Banjo Kazooie (with the ambient sounds) and the melody sounds more accurate in that one. Also, the "pizzicato" harmony sounds a little off as well, but that could just be me. Is this a problem with the MIDI or are we actually hearing the correct version in your rip?

EDIT: Sorry, one more thing I just thought of. I've struggled to find a version of the Rusty Bucket Bay Engine Room without ambient sounds. I found an mp3 floating around, many years ago, with only the instruments and no "mechanical clanking". However, that version had some audio clipping and might have been created with some kind of software that tried to remove certain frequencies. Are the mechanical sounds built into the MIDI or did you add/leave them for some other reason?

Thanks again!

I have the BK midis and a soundfont, and the Rusty Bucket Bay Engine Room music does have the mechanical clanking as part of the midi, if that answers your question.

Yeah before I can even reassemble the tracks I have to re-pitch individual samples one by one as they are slightly off pitch usually by a half or quarter semitone. Fixed the pizzicato strings as well as picked bass notes in the recently re-uploaded version. I've also added the Engine Room song without the ambience. It sounds a bit bare without the background noise which is why I had originally left the ambience in only, same with Cemetery.

UPDATE 1 (2/12/17):

-Added cover with logo
-Various re-titled tracks:
--"Mumbo's Hut" to "Mumbo's Skull"
--"Near Mumbo's Hut" to "Outside Mumbo's Skull"
--"Near Tickers' Tower" to "Outside Tickers' Tower"
-Added shakers on "Gobi's Valley - Aquatics"
-Fixed drum notes on "Clanker's Cavern"
-Fixed harp notes on "Freezeezy Peak - Aquatics"
-Fixed harp notes on "Mad Monster Mansion - Aquatics"
-Fixed harp notes on "Nabnut's House - Aquatics"
-Fixed notes on "Click Clock Wood - Autumn"
-Fixed drum notes on "Gruntilda's Lair - Grunty's Furnace Fun"
-Fixed drum notes on "Grunty's Furnace Fun"
-Re-pitched Pizzicato Strings (highest sample only) that effect the following tracks:
--"Twinklies' Journey"
--"Inside the Twinklies' Tree"
--"Nabnut's House"
-Re-pitched Picked Bass that effect the following tracks:
--"Game Select 2 - Cooking"
--"Treasure Trove Cove" & w/ambience
--"Nipper"
--"Gruntilda's Lair - Clanker's Cavern" & w/ambience
--"Clanker's Cavern"
--"Mutie-Snippets" & w/ambience
--"Tumblar's Shack"
--"Inside the Warehouse/Cargo Container"
--"Click Clock Wood - Season Hub"
--"The Treetops"
--"Gruntilda's Lair - Top of the Tower"
-Added track "Freezeezy Peak - Normal" and "Freezeezy Peak - Christmas Bells" as well as versions with ambience
-Added track "Rusty Bucket's Engine Room (w/o Engine)"
-Fixed pitch on wind ambience on many tracks
-Less severe Low Pass filter on sea ambience on Treasure Trove Cove & Rusty Bucket Bay

The update is probably almost half as large as the OSV itself so I don't have a separate link for it.

I've only noticed ONE more error here, in "Gruntilda's Lair - Grunty's Furnace Fun", there's an instrument playing over the top of the bass that isn't supposed to be there.

Amazing work! Are you doing anything "new" to the files, such as adding reverb? Or is it mostly removing ambience/re-pitching instruments and leaving the rest as is?

Also, noticed that the Treasure Trove Cove version of Gruntilda's Lair is missing the tambourine that is heard each beat.

---------- Post added at 12:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:50 AM ----------

Another one to add to the list: it sounds like the pizzicato strings in mad monster's mansion are just slightly off pitch, barely but enough to be noticeable.

Technically, there are a lot of Gruntilda's Lair variations missing.
There's the variation of the normal theme that has a tambourine, and one that doesn't. As well as that, some of the variations of Gruntilda's Lair are different when you are near the puzzle for a level, and the actual level entrance itself.

The differences between the "puzzle" and "entrance" variations are:
Treasure Trove Cove Puzzle - Tambourine
Treasure Trove Cover Entrance - No tambourine
Clanker's Cavern Puzzle - Tambourine
Clanker's Cavern Entrance - No tambourine, also includes muted guitar chords
Bubblegloop Swamp Puzzle - Tambourine, grasshopper sound effects
Bubblegloop Swamp Entrance - No tambourine, and no grasshopper sound effects
Gobi's Valley Puzzle - No percussion
Gobi's Valley Entrance - Percussion (bongos, woodblocks)
Mad Monster Mansion Puzzle - No environmental noises
Mad Monster Mansion Entrance - Environmental noises (howling, insects, etc)
Click Clock Wood Puzzle - Contains a bass line played by what sounds like a Kalimba or something
Click Clock Wood Entrance - Lacks said bass line

Mumbo's Mountain, Freezeezy Peak, and Rusty Bucket Bay have no differences between the picture variations and entrance variations.

Wow, thank you for the thorough response! I didn't know about all of those different variations. Having so many would be a bit redundant in a compilation like this, so it doesn't bother me leaving them out in that case.

If !!!!! ever considers adding those, instead of having something like "Gruntilda's Lair - Gobi's Valley Picture" and "Gruntilda's Lair - Gobi's Valley Entrance" as separate versions, maybe he could do a medley, where the first part is the "picture/puzzle" variation, and the second half is the "entrance" variation.

He also needs to fix a couple of other versions of Gruntilda's Lair. Such as the Rusty Bucket Bay version which has no version without ambiance and the Grunty's Furnace Fun version which has a wrong instrument in it.

It would also be pretty cool if you recreated the other beta themes, but that would probably take forever and be a huge pain.

Thanks for this, this has to be the best thing since that Metroid Prime remaster! Here's a few things I noticed about the rip in case you were still watching this thread:P

- 1-4 "Gruntilda's Lair - Rusty Bucket Bay" has SFX even though there is a track with ambience in it already at 8-4.
- The pipe organ in several songs loses it's base notes/chords in several songs:
- 1-12 "The Beauty Stealing Machine" drops out 4 seconds in and comes back
- 3-21 "Gruntilda's Lair - Mad Monster Mansion" drops a bit at the 33-38 and 54-58 second mark, and again during that same refrain later in the song.
- 3-29 "The Haunted Church" drops the bass entirely 4 seconds in and comes back at 13 seconds.
- 1-5 "Gruntilda's Lair - Grunty's Furnace Fun" has an extra instrument in it compared to the original.
- 2-15 "Clanker's Cavern - Deep Aquatics" still has SFX in it.
- 2-10 "Inside Nipper's Shell" still has SFX in it.
- 3-27 "Cemetery" - still has SFX in it.
- 16-7 "Mad Monster Mansion (w/ambience) - has the church bell in the first 15 seconds, which does not play in the normal version. The MMM - Normal track is what this one should be.

Overall excellent work, the quality of the sound is phenomenal!

Oh my you have good ears daringdan3721, I can notice this too now that you mention it. I guess it has to do with the conversion from the N64 sound format to the DAW used to remaster the songs. Anyways, thanks to !!!!! for his impressive work and I look forward to little corrections on those tracks to make this the definitive soundtrack for BK. Thanks!!
