Enjoy the soundtrack.

With most soundtracks I enjoy, I'm tempted to track down the actual film and watch it. Stalingrad is powerful strong, but not for the faint hearted.

Somehow, I can't imagine Mister Rogers sitting down with his bowl of popcorn to watch this film.

On the other hand, I can imagine Kim Jong-un watching Stalingrad and thinking it's a comedy. So, you know...

Never watched Cross of Iron. I'll look for a copy somewheres.

Enemy at the Gates was weak (in my opinion) and played fast and loose with historical facts, while portraying the film itself as a type of historic depiction. Meh. Sorry.

Stalingrad, though a work of fiction, didn't skew the facts to the nth degree like Enemy did. In my opinion. I'm afraid if I say any more on that, I'll be headed down a long rabbit trail and this is the Shrine, not Darth Sphincter's Movie Reviews ;)

As an amateur historian, the outcome of Stalingrad was significant. So many other fates hinged on the outcome of this "battle;" the war in Europe, the downfall of Kraut fascism, but changing the course of the entire war, even into the Pacific, and more. Huge implications!
