I pre-ordered a copy from PrestoClassical in the UK, and they have shipped it to me, but it'll probably be a little over a week before I receive it here in the USA. In addition, I've already got SACDs of Vaughan Williams' 1st, 4th, 6th, and 8th Syms that I still need to get posted, so it's going to be a while before I get the 9th/Job album posted. I won't be able to remember your request here for it during that time, but if you'll keep an eye out for it and then repeat your request for it, I will certainly be very happy to share it with you. (And in the meantime, you can also be watching for the 1st, 4th, 6th, & 8th Syms!)

I am eager to hear the difference from old CD format.In Surround Sound, the difference should be rather dramatic right away, for the obviously reason that now you've got the sound coming from all around you. On the High-Res Stereo that you also requested, whether or not you hear the difference from standard CD Audio just depends on a combination of how good your sound system is along with how good your ears are. (I say that with absolutely all due respect, only because some people who are medically hard of hearing will, understandably, have a very difficult time being able to actually hear the difference, so how good one's ears are is definitely a considering factor.)

Symphony # 1 (“A Sea Symphony”) & “The Wasps” Overture are now available for download.

Symphony # 4 is now available for download.

Symphony # 9/“Job” with Sir Andrew Davis and the Bergen Philharmonic is now available for download. This completes the series as far as I am able to do it until Chandos releases the final installment, Vaughan Williams 7th Symphony (“Sinfonia Antartica”), which will hopefully be somewhere around September 2017, give or take. (It was hopefully just recently recorded on the weekend of January 27, 2017 by Davis and the Bergen Philharmonic, when they were scheduled to perform the work in concert.)

As I have stated in every OP that I have posted here at FF Shrine, ALL of my uploads are in .flac, so your request for "FLAC" tells me nothing. If you had read my OP, you would have known to request "standard CD audio", "hi-resolution stereo", "Surround Sound", or any combination thereof. So therefore, I have no idea what to send you, and will therefore send you nothing unless/until you clarify your request, which would have been completely unnecessary if you had actually read my OP.

(And I appreciate the rep, but it still doesn't tell me what you want.)

OK, I will re-up, but it's going to take a few days, if not a couple of weeks, so please bear with me. I've been able to upload a whole bunch of stuff the last few days because I've been off work for Christmas, but I have to go back to work next Tuesday, so that will undoubtedly slow me down if I don't have it done by then.

I have been avoiding this out of respect for wimpel69’s Vaughan Williams threads (even though they’re only in standard CD audio), but since you have requested it, I'll take that as license to go ahead and jump in.

But as I said, it will take a few days at minimum, so please be patient. As soon as I have it up, I'll be sure and send both of you (palillo604 & Manhattengirl) a PM to give you a "heads up".

This has been re-upped and (partially) REMASTERED and is available for download again.

When I first uploaded Symphonies 2, 3, 5, and their respective disk couplings, they were at 96 kHz for the SACD layer. Since then, I have learned that it is better to rip SACDs at 88.2 kHz, because that way the waveform is proportional to the original DSD signal, which results in smoother sound at the higher frequencies. I don�t know if it will make an audible difference to anyone, but especially considering that it also makes for slightly smaller .flac files, I figured it would be a good move to make, regardless.

(The other symphonies, 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9, along with their respective couplings, were already at 88.2 kHz, so they are unchanged. All the Standard CD Audio files for the whole 8-disk set, being at 44.1 kHz and therefore not affected by the SACD�s higher frequencies issue, are exactly the same as before.)

Symphonies 1-6 and 8 all have almost completely new artwork/scans, which is now based on .pdf downloads from Chandos instead of laying a paper booklet on my scanner, which resulted in a pretty big improvement, so those of you who downloaded them previously might be interested in updating your artwork/scans. (Symphonies 7 & 9 were already based on .pdf downloads, so they are unchanged from their original uploads.)

(The links are in the OP now. I�m not doing links via PM anymore. That absolutely wore me out.)
