I'm kind of amazed by how many of these I don't remember.

But there's a missing one that is easily in my top three or four most memorable bosses in Final Fantasy history.

It's no surprise that it's missing, because it doesn't actually exist.

The Czar Dragon, from Final Fantasy VI.

The dragon did exist, to an extent. It exists within the dark corners of the actual FF6 ROM, along with some unused dialogue about an ultimate boss being "free at last". Neither the boss nor the dialogue associated with him is in any way accessible within the game itself. But FF6 was the first western release in the series to partake in the internet age, where rumors could spread like wildfire and build upon layers and layers of misinformation, and no one was quite savvy enough yet to fact check.

Supposedly, as I remember it, performing the outrageous grind to unleash and defeat the Czar Dragon would reward you with an egg that would revive General Leo as a recruitable character. That sounded like a pretty sweet deal to me, and I was one of probably thousands of kids who spent weeks of their childhood hunting the Veldt for the boss that never was.

Yeah I remember hearing about the Czar Dragon, didn't they put him in the Advance version instead? I can't remember now :)

Hey Johnny! What a great idea that is!

You have some really good ones there.

What about tonberry king? that's a great fight. And odin from ff8. having to scale the castle before the timer runs out.
Or ultima weapon from ff8, don cactuar?

I think those all were memorable cause they were novel. The cool thing about odin was that his finisher move was a kill all. if you weren't able to subdue him by the end of the fight it was game over. I remember getting up to the top only to have been defeated by him. and then running up again (then i found out about the trick)

Thank you :D

Yeah Odin from FF8 was close to making my Top 50 but it was really hard to narrow it down to just 50 to be honest. Tonberry King is a fun boss battle, but going against ALL of those damn Tonberry's before it really puts a stinger in it for me. Don Cactuar was fun too but in fairness it's quite a short battle if you're well prepared, which I tend to be when I face him. All good choices though and everyone's list would be different I'm sure :D
