This was Yoko Kanno's first time scoring a prestigious NHK taiga drama and she does not disappoint. The high point of this soundtrack is the Amatora Suite (Tracks 17-20). It serves as the main theme for the series - a glorious 14 minute piece inspired by French impressionist music. You can hear an excerpt of the suite above. Thanks for sharing this. I tip my hat to the composer for the remarkable effort, even if it was a bit hard for me to sit through the whole thing. I am more into emotionally motivated tunes than intellectually motivated efforts like this one. Nevertheless, "Amatora ~Toranome" will easily find its place in just about any Kanno compilation I make from now on.

Is anyone else having a difficult time with this link? Each time it goes to unzip Stuffit Expander quits unexpectedly. Only this one Mega link won't work, I've tried updating Stuffit, restarting Chrome, no luck... Anyone having similar issues?

Its not a bad thing to me. I love Brain powerd soundtrack, and one of my favorite works of her. I actually feel so hyped with this soundtrack for all the elements used that clearly are throwback to Brain Powerd-

i think people here normally are not that familiar with NHK Taiga Drama. it always last for a year, sometimes more. So usually more than 1 score album will be released. and eventually there will be a release like "Essential Selection" of a drama's score. I think i have spotted one album of Yoko's this work like this somewhere in amazon Japan

So far OST 1 2 3 and a special OST dedicated to a supporting character have been released.

Yeah, I haven't looked since for any flac releases. Still waiting for someone else to post it up. I guess I'll have to do some more research soon.
