The Commonwealth Christmas as stated is a premiere recording of something very special and unexpected in the celebration of the holiday for the British people around the world.

The John Williams recording is remarkably special for the medley of carols by Alfred Burt. This recording has been absent from the local air waves for decades and these carols are so very beautiful and charming.

Addison's film score far outshines Tiomkins' effort and this is from a recording that promised a series but died with this effort.

McKennitt can do no wrong with traditional tunes and her own special creations.

The single offering from Gerald Finzi is lovely and as bright as the star over a snowy hill with the angel's evocation. Lovely and poignant; the work has a sad history; being inspired by the ringing of the bells at a chapel. It was after a performance of IN TERRA PAX that Finzi took his friend Ralph Vaughan Williams up the hill to where the bells were played. There they encountered the Vicker and what turned out to be his sick children. Their chicken pox diminished Finzi's compromised immunity system, he was terminally ill at the time, and a few months later he passed away.
