As is the case with lot of people, the Christmas Season is my favourite time of the year, made all the more special with Holiday specific music. Even before the availability of IPods, cell phones and even earlier Walkmans, I began putting together Holiday Music compilations for myself and friends on audio cassette. I especially love symphonic music and this compilation includes Christmas Orchestral Music composed for the Concert Hall, Ballet, Opera and Musicals, with the emphasis on spectacular sound. All of the selections have been DSD archived from various analog and digital sources & remastered for the best audiophile stereo sound quality. Some of these works may be familiar to you even if the selected performances are not. Other more obscure pieces you may be hearing for the first time but, hey, isn’t this the perfect season for musical discovery? I hope you discover that “Orchestral Christmas 2016”, which I have called this 2 and one half hour compilation, gives you as much listening pleasure as it gave me to compile it for your Holiday listening and (hopeful) enjoyment.
