Actually, for this release, there is technically not really any tracks missing. As far as VGMdb's and iTunes' information goes, there's 169 tracks, and that's what is included here.

Edit: Err... no, I guess there's still just 168 tracks.

On their original press release, yes, they stated that there are 175 tracks. But those were just repeat tracks taken from the XY OST.

There's a low pass filter that cuts off everything above 16 KHz. None of the tracks from vector's link show that behavior. That cut-off is because the game sound files are at a 32 KHz sample rate, nyquist frequency is at 16 KHz.

And on top of that, why is the file mp3 and not AAC?

It depends : itunes stuff have the .m4a format which support AAC (lossy) and ALAC (lossless), so yes some itunes stuff are lossless. But most of them being converted to FLAC (without loose of quality because that how its works with lossless > lossless transcode).

No. While .m4a files may contain the lossless ALAC codec, the iTunes store does not sell lossless music. Anything purchased is lossy.

You're welcome! I can definitely relate to the struggle of fishing for working links. I actually have all the OSTs from RSE onward with official English tags and titles, plus an equal amount of spinoff stuff, so maybe it's time to add to the constantly fluctuating pile of working links... Before that, anyway, the DMG Sound (Thread 188588) thread is hands-down your best bet for anything from the GBC era (it doesn't use iTunes tagging conventions but I doubt many care), aside from Card GB 2 (Thread 167798) which I uploaded and ripped in another thread.
