hello all, i'm new to the forum - please point me in the relevant direction if other threads can answer my questions...

1- to obtain Anima i need the secret items from all the temples - correct? well i just found this out, but i think i may have accidently sold the secret item from Besaid (Rod of Wisdom) so will i be able to find this there if i go again or can i buy another? gutted if i've lost my chance to have anima on this game

2- if i can go back to Besaid for the item i don't want to have to fight Dark Valefor (i'm nowhere near strong enough yet) so how can i get Yojimbo to perform Zanmato more often - right now he seems to use it when i pay him a pittance against smaller fiends but only Wakizashi is used vs Dark Valefor

any help would be gladly appreciated, thanks!

1- You don't need it for Anima. As long as you GOT it at one point then that's enough.
2-Doesn't matter because you don't need to go back and I don't have international anyways.

1. I always do sell the secret weapons after a while, because I don't need them anymore. There are better ones you'll get after a while and you don't have to keep the secret one for getting Anima.

2. When you go back to Besaid, you can also go through the cloister of trials again, but you won't get the secret item back. The treasure chest will be empty. After the trial you are going to meet the Fayth though, and it'll tell you a few things about the dreams etc. And another good thing is, you'll get some spheres and other items.

When I beat Valefor, I kill it without Zanmato, but I'm using Yojimbo aganist certain other Black Aeons. I just pay him a lot of money and he's going to do it. Beside that, I'm not using Yojimbo. ;)

thanks :) yeh ive been back to some other temples and received items from the Fayth which is cool. I'm not going to use Yojimbo for dark aeons now as im just levelling up, whether i have the patience to stat-max is another thing tho. I've played the game before but SOMEONE got deleted my game save so i had to start again recently.
I think my chances of getting Anima are gone tho cos i didnt get the secret item in Bevelle and i think you can't go back there now(because Mika died) When i first went there i thought, hmmm the item is for Kimahri - never use him anyway! so i didnt get it, completely forgetting that i needed to get it to get hold of Anima (and in turn the Magus sisters) D'oh

No, You wont get another chance to go back to bevelle. the only way for you to obtain anima now is to start a new game or cheat... and cheaters stink! lol.

Well, I just save my game near Dark Valefor or whatever and then keep resetting until Yojimbo has done his magic. The amount of money doesn't really seem to affect what move he does though, I give him like 300,000 gil once and he just did that crappy dog attack!

You can't miss the item in Bevelle. The Knight Lance is an optional item. It's not the treasure you need for Anima.

Yeah, that's correct. But the more you pay to higher are the chances for Zanmato. I'm always level up enough to beat Black Valefor, Ifrit, Ixion, Yojimbo without my Yojimbo.

I'm not using him very often, that means I have to pay him a lot to get Zanmato (around 1 or 1,5 million Gil).

There is another treasure chest with a sphere in it (I think it was a sphere). It is right before you leave Bevelle. On the left side is the chest with the Knight Lance, on the right side the treasure chest with the secret item. ;)

ummm actually the cheat for makin yojimbo use zanmato a hell of alot more often is to give him 1756 gil when his on overdrive

I always pay yojimbo 170000 gil or less or a bit more to do Zamato when he is on overdrive.

1756 is so muchh better :-P but theres also a cheat were u pay him 256 gil every time you use him (he prob wont use zanmato but he'll use wakizashi) and it gains trust and if you pay him 256 every time you use him then he'll start to use wakisashi and sometimes zanmato for free and eventually he'll never ask for pay, he'll just use attacks (mostly zanmato at this point)

Well, n-e waise seems like yah r talk'n Yojimbo, well, if you're a good RPG and you have a good sense of playing, then if you give him 1gil he'll still attack 9999 or over, cuz thats my YOJIMBO!!!

probably, because his strength is 255, so every attack he does, the damage does over 9999.
