If it's tagged and sorted, it's all I need for now! Since the 3DS games use streaming music, I'm not sure the quality really improves on CD anymore (unless you're FLAC or bust).

Of course, I could be wrong... was there a noticeable quality bump for X&Y/ORAS?

I think, there was obvious mastering and sound quality improval, and pretty much removed the 3DS' internal sound.
