Hi there.
A few years back, I discovered Huppertz' original score for Metropolis. I had assumed up til then that silent films did not have scores when originally released. I had always imagined a possibly improved accompaniment with piano or organ. The discovery made me wonder which other silent movies had scores written for their original release.
This afternoon, I found Erdmann's score for Nosferatu. Now I'm even more curious.
Are there any other silent movies out there with original scores? And which are your favorites?
(I'm not talking about modern scores or scores written after the original production, like Air's score for Trip To The Moon, or Glass' score for Dracula.)
Thank you. :)
