If you've been reading Batman or DC comics the past few years, the "Court of Owls" will be familiar to you. I have been working on novelizing the Court of Owls storyline for quite some time now (fanfic, basically). Part of my inspiration comes from listening to music, of course. Despite the popularity of the Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer scores, I've always been enamored with Elliot Goldenthal's two efforts. As part of my personal multimedia project, I came up with what is essentially a temp-track for the series. I combined music from various Goldenthal scores like Batman Forever, Batman & Robin, Sphere, Demolition Man, and Final Fantasy to create a musical story to match the creativity of the Owls' storyline.

Presented are 14 tracks for a total of 44 minutes. While it is far from perfect, I can now listen to this apart from the previously mentioned sources and hear it as Bruce Wayne and Batman's twisted journey into what is essentially the Illuminati of Gotham. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

01 - Gotham Is...
02 - Ambush at Old Wayne Tower
03 - The Thirteenth Floor
04 - Explosion & Aftermath
05 - Memories
06 - Into the Maze
07 - Madness
08 - Fury
09 - Talons Unleashed
10 - Attack on Wayne Manor
11 - Fighting the Owls
12 - Down the Rabbit Hole
13 - My Brother's Keeper
14 - Fall of the House of Wayne

This is a cool idea. I may have to do something like it myself one day. (Also, can you imagine what the score to 'Death of the Family' might sound like? Probably very creepy.)

Thanks for the support! "Death of the Family" was one of the best, most intense Batman comics I've ever read, and maybe I'll attempt to do it next ;)

Something with more high pitches, kind of like the Psycho finale? After all, it's a very disturbing comic book.

Exactly. Since you mentioned high pitches, I can't stop thinking about the score to The Witch. That one properly scared me.

It's an excellent idea. I've done the same thing and put together "score albums" for some of my writing projects using existing soundtracks. I've never been a big fan of Goldenthal, but this works very well, very nice choices !

Link received.

Thank you very much for sharing this effort. As others have noted, I have often thought about re-arranging existing scores to fashion a "new" score, and I think this works pretty well! The jauntier bits of Goldenthal's Batman scores don't work as well (for me) in the context of such a bleak story. More importantly, it's over too soon! Looking forward to an expanded edition ;)

Thank you again!

Oh, this one looks like a very interesting idea! Always admired Goldenthal's output for this series and Scott Snyder's story is just so terrific (shame is being trashed by the Gotham's season three).
PM sent ideed!)
