Is there any point to the Timber Maniacs?

i think it's more of a self-satisfaction thing.

You can view the Timber Maniacs at the control panel in the Garden by going to Selphie's Garden Committee section and looking for her Laguna subsection.

The above mentioned reason really is all they are good for, but remember that they can only be viewed after the garden is mobile I do believe...

Right, or once it's stationed at Fisherman's after you get the Ragnarok.
