So, I know it's not Danny Elfman's score but the movie looks kinda neat and even in absence of his favorite composer Tim Burton has quite a ear for a music in his movies...
But there was no word about releasing it! Are there any news, anyone? Will it be released? Will it be pirated? The people got to know!

La-La Land will be releasing it on the 11th.

I like LLL but not when they do this. I want a physical version of Joe Kramer's MI5, but then, since you know, importing stuff..

It's an RCP score - the sessions will leak within a few years, lol, so there's no need to be hung up about not getting the OST.

I mean about MI5. This one, unless it's DAMN good I don't think I'm ever getting physically

Matthew Margeson scores are usually winners in my book.

Didn't know this movie score was made by him

It's scored by him and some guy named Mike Higham.
Apparently Elfman was too busy to score this Burton film, although Higham has worked with Elfman before.

Duh! If Elfman wasn't busy he'd have scored it. They are longtime partners! I wish he could've scored it.

Honestly I doubt Elfman would have produced anything earth-shattering this time around. I like a lot of his scores, but after a while they all start to blend together... I can't remember a single cue from Big Fish or Alice in Wonderland, for example.

Margeson might produce a score out-of-character for a Burton film... it'll be interesting to hear how it turns out.

Holy shit, I took it for granted that Elfman would be scoring this. I'm suddenly a lot less enthusiastic about it. Also, I hate it when they decide to release the score two weeks after the movie comes out... Who does that??

It was scheduled for earlier but was delayed.
So long as a soundtrack comes out in a timely manner (which it is) I see no reason to bitch about it.

I just feel like the market for regular people buying soundtracks would probably be right after they see the movie. A couple weeks later (if the score isn't that memorable), most people will have forgotten about it and moved on by then.

I'll be watching the film tonight. I'll report back if it's anything worth mentioning.

True.
Unfortunately that also means that the film and its score are unremarkable enough that people will forget about it within two weeks.

If I hadn't known it wasn't Elfman scoring this, I still would have assumed he had. Burton must have a very specific sound he searches for. Apart from some great main title music and a rousing piece near the end, I didn't think it was all that memorable. The film itself was better than expected; it kind of reminded me of Big Fish (the music is more like Alice).

After watching the movie (which I must say it was amazing), the music looks nice and in the Elfman Style. Specially one track when they enter in the sinked ship and the one from the main titles looked very nice and were some of the outstanding pieces. I hope this gets released soon and we can listen to the whole album. I think Matthew has done a very good job in here. I also recommend you the movie if you're a fan of Burton or the dark fantasy movies.

Still, cannot get it atm. But want to.

Maybe I'll look after it. Anyway, does anybody even have the tracklist for the soundtrack? It's a little bit weird this hasn't appeared in anywhere
