Hate to say this but this all sounds really bad. I love Iwasaki's experiments because they usually yield some interesting new sounds and methods that he goes on to perfect later on (like dubstep from Jormungand to Jojo to Gatchaman), but this is the first soundtrack I've heard from him in a while where NOTHING sounds new. This may have been even worse than Ben-To, because at least the experiments in that were interesting. Most of this sounds like Iwasaki was forced by the producers to be Sawano and make either really loud Hollywood-style bombastic Zimmer noise (like O Battle) or bad pop songs for a bad Seiyuu singer from the show full of Engrish and autotune (Time to Go). Hopefully the full soundtrack isn't as bad as these low quality 30s samples are, but I have strong doubts that would be the case. I can't say I blame him though, the show itself was terrible in every way imaginable. He probably just made this in his sleep. This has not been a good year for Iwasaki so far. Which is strange because he tends to release something spectacular every three-year cycle (Gurren Lagann in 2007, Katanagatari in 2010, Gatchaman in 2013, but nothing so far for 2016). Hopefully the 2nd season of Bungou Stray Dogs will bring something new, already the new trailer makes it sound like Iwasaki is going to jump back into full orchestral music after all these years:

I can't agree with You The Zipper but I respect Yor opinion. For me Iwasaki Taku > Sawano. Sawano lately is too much repetitive. I agree that Qualidea anime is not perfect. It is medicore when it comes to animation and drawing (so much mistakes, eyes too close and strange looking faces) but it has got good scenario and music is really good. Hope You will like the full ost. Greetings!

Don't get me wrong, I don't like Sawano either. My problem with this soundtrack is that it sounds as if producers told Iwasaki to become Sawano. It's not my cup of tea, but more power to you if you enjoy it. I would take this anyday over anything Sawano has made in the past 5 years.

The track lengths were already on the Amazon.jp link that was posted above. The soundtrack did come out today though so I think it's only a matter of time.

Oh, I see. Before when on vgmdb there was a tracklist but none track length I thoutht that nobody had an ost. Usually the full description of tracks came after the release date of the soundtrack. And I didn't see it on amazon either...
Bungou Stray Dogs Ost was few days earlier than release date so I hope we won't have to wait long for this one. Thanks!

Oh, that soon? Nice. Can't wait for someone to post this along with some backlogged Asterisk War music (request thread below this). Asterisk War still has tracks waiting to be posted here that I'm hoping that both this & Qualidea Code stuff can be posted when possible.

I guess on one hand I can agree with 'The Zipper', yet on another I'm actually finding these tracks to be awesome on their own. I guess standards & expectations were forced too high, or something that sometimes a breather needs to happen to return back to "fun". People go on and on about how some anime shows sucks while forgetting if they had fun watching it or not. If you had fun then it's worth it. But yeah, we're all entitled to our own opinions. I can't argue how you see things.

----------

Edit: I hear some Jormungand, some some Hollywood, some Infected Mushroom, and just various styles. Even the type of Music I heard in 'C' anime. Quite interesting. I wish I could grab it, yet i'm broke. Fun fun.

Thanks!

I've listened to the full thing and I sort of take back what I said before. This was VERY different than previous Iwasaki offerings. I'm not really sure if I can process it yet, or if I even really like it yet as a whole. It is, without a doubt, the loudest soundtrack Iwasaki has ever made. If I were to give a short description, it would be that this soundtrack is a combination of the ones he did for Ben-To and Jormungand cranked up to 11. The music is essentially modern Hollywood (particularly Zimmer-style like Inception) combined with shameless modern pop EDM. The dubstep in particular, is the very trashy Skillrex type instead of Iwasaki's more balanced Gatchaman efforts. Anyone who likes Iwasaki for his melodies and orchestra- stay FAR away from this soundtrack. It's even more senseless noise than Sawano's efforts. I'm sure if you hear it you'll think he had sold his orchestral skills to the devil in exchange for making EDM beats. Iwasaki hammed the hell out of this one, with interesting results. You can tell he had a lot of fun experimenting. I'm very curious how he'll incorporate these newer sounds into his later works.

So far, I would have to say that "I.Battle" and "I can't find U" are the best songs on this whole album. The beats are incredible (though the Engrish in other songs is abysmal, but that's what you get when a studio forces you to use a seiyuu to sing an unfamiliar language). This whole soundtrack sounds like it was made for Fast and Furious.

Surprise, surprise, Iwasaki is going on another Twitter rant. From what various online translators tell me he finds every aspect of the show "filmsy" and decided to make the soundtrack "flimsy" as well. It sounds like he thinks the show is just rubbish overall.

so he Half-assed it? I Still think it's pretty good but would they not wanna work with him again after him saying that? Like when Jojo came out and stuff?

And yet he was relatively silent working on Mahouka(from what I remember.) Hmmm. Well, that gets me interested.

Also sorta off-topic, but..."senseless noise" Do people not get what goes into electronic music...at all? I always hear this about Sawano in particular, and that's so not true, it's silly. That guy's music is ludicrously controlled, down to the last note, no matter how heavy or dissonant. Why do people say this? It always bugs me XD. I'm left to assume "senseless noise" is mainly just music nerd code for "style I don't like", or maybe more specifically, "any electronic music heavier than a 90's techno beat."
