If I were a lot less critical, then I wouldn't deny that some of her songs aren't so terrible, but realistically speaking, it's painful to the ears imho.

I can't stand her music, but other than that T.A.T.U. song that came out a few years back, Sk8er Boi is quite possibly the catchiest song ever written. I hear it once and it's stuck in my head for a week. That may have been the most overplayed song ever. When it first came out I was ready to climb a clock tower with a rifle.

i never got that about avril. when everyone was always talking about how she is trying to be punk i never got that was what avril was trying to convey. i know there are a million quotes out there that suggest otherwise, but that doesnt mean anything. you can be a punk without actually being punk. avril dressed that way but was never a punk. she admitted she didnt know a thing about punk music and she said that wasn't what she was singing anyway.

as for her playing and writing her own music...well, she doesnt. and i dont believe she ever really said that it was all her.

i think that avril is misunderstood. i dont particularly care for a lot of her music, but i do like a few songs. as for her looks, yes she is a cute girl. are there cuter/uglier girls? in the eye of the beholder.

I am from near her hometown of napanee, i go to the same high school she did (only with every intention of graduating) and i can tell you right now that even most people from that area don't like her, so if the people who would usually be her biggest fans don't like her, yet you do, then it is obvious you have been sucked in by the mainstream MTV crap they are passing as hits nowadays while actually talented musicians don't get any press at all

Nirvana is one of those things I will just never understand. All their songs seem boring, slow, and just generally make me feel like shit. Even the ones that have an upbeat tempo somehow manage to feel as if they are holding me by the ears and dragging me through the mud.
