Looney Tunes: The Golden Collection (Isolated DVD Score)

Presented Here Is My First DVD/Rip Of Isolated Scores. Out Of All The Hundreds Of Looney Tunes Shorts There Were 37 With Complete Isolated Score (No SFX).
I Have Compiled Them All And Tagged With The Correct Composer For Each Short And Named Them With The Correct Character/s Ect (I.E "Bugs Bunny In...")

It Was A Joint Effort As In I Did Not Do It Alone, I Had Huge Help From:

TheSkeletonMan939 & tehƧP@ƦKly†ANK™ -Ⅲ
In So Much As Explaining How To Do This, Help With The Programs To Use, And General Support.

And A Huge Thanks To Calidoran. For Starting All This With The Isolated Thread, And For Helping To Locate The Shorts In Question!

Thanks Guys!

One Last Thing It Is Presented As Is, So No FLAC I Am Sorry to Say. This Is All. Hopefully It Will Be Enjoyed.

So With Out Further Ado The Details!

Helping out with this was a pleasure! Thank you, Mr. Gold!
n.b. - these came from a Region 2 DVD, meaning that they technically are not quite at the 'right' pitch.
Does anyone know if eac3to accepts multiple input files and can output them as multiple files as well?

n.b. - these came from a Region 2 DVD, meaning that they technically are not quite at the 'right' pitch.
Does anyone know if eac3to accepts multiple input files and can output them as multiple files as well?

Put all Ac3 into one folder.
Create empty text file, rename to "slowdown.bat".
Say yes to changing the file extension (.bat).

slowdown.bat

@echo off
cd /d %~dp0
FOR %%A IN (*.ac3) DO "eac3to.exe" "%%~nxA" "%%~nA.ac3" -slowdown -224

Change path of "eac3to" to where eac3to is actually sitting.

Since you're actually altering the data, increased bitrate would help keep it "sane".
But not a lot of bitrate. AC3 is advanced that only the next usable step would be needed.
160 / 192 / 224 / 256 / 320 / etc...

And check each log afterward for any "clipping" and "normalizing".
For tracks that clip and need normalizing, move them to a new empty folder.
And try this...

@echo off
cd /d %~dp0
FOR %%A IN (*.ac3) DO "eac3to.exe" "%%~nxA" "%%~nA.ac3" -slowdown -224 -7dB -normalize

That should reduce clipping.

If clipping still occurs and the normalization applies a negative gain instead of a positive gain, then the clipping is not due to 0dBFS overload, but more of a integer->float->integer problem and that can't really be fixed so whatever it gives will have to do.

I'm taking a listen to the wonderful compilation! It's pretty good but I'm so accostumed to hearing the shorts in R1 that it's kinda noticeable to me, the pitch difference.

One of you guys who have the most space should grab the Golden Collection DVD's on RuTracker and isolate those. I think those are R1.. I think, I hope.

Also, this is kinda sad. The PAL thing bothers me.. >.< The PAL collection is just 55 euros, but PAL bothers me. But american edition is way more expensive. And I don't think all the volumes are region free

Meanwhile I'll stay with this. <3

One of you guys who have the most space should grab the Golden Collection DVD's on RuTracker and isolate those.

Well, WE don't isolate those :) the music is a separate audiostream of its own which you can chose to listen to INSTEAD of the regular audiostream. I'm not saying you don't understand what it is, but it is a common misunderstanding that an isolated score IS the regular audiostream where someone has tried to remove the speech and sfx. It isn't and i am in no way trying to diminish the efforts of anyone trying to do so. I have done it on a few occasions and it is a LOT of work and VERY hard to produce something that is acceptable to listen to.

And for Mr Gold - great work, downloading now :)

Done some digging and here is some additional info regarding The Looney Tunes isolated scores. All listed for DVDs here:

http://www.dvdcompare.net

are correct except for two that doesn't have any. Then quite a few are listed as music only when in reality they are music AND sfx.

The bluray release Platinum Collection contains fewer isolated than the DVDs, but they have 11 that are not present on the DVDs. 3 of those are listed as music and sfx.

Golden Collection (DVD)
61 with music only or music/sfx

Platinum Collection (bluray)
32 with music only or music/sfx

I can't verify these, just found the info on the internet and put it together.

Which brings the total number of isolated with or without sfx to 72.

James (The Disney Guy)
08-28-2016, 06:27 PM
^ That Is Correct In Total With Music & Music/SFX There Were 72.
But All That Were SFX Free Are What I Posted, Except "What's Opera Doc?" That Was A Bonus Track.

The pitch difference can be easily amended. I'll try to diddle around with it today, using Sparktank's instructions.

You can also easily do the pitch shift in Audacity, but I'm not sure if you can also do it in batch mode.

The difference is that eac3to knows the exact percentage to switch the pitch, while I don't! ;-)
I could easily Google it, but for things like this I prefer to let a machine do its work. No human touch = no human error. :smrt:

If you Google NTSC to PAL Audacity then one of the first hits is a forum where they explain the number and the calculations behind it. Apparently it's not even as easy as having one percentage and using the exact same one to convert the other way around! Didn't know the percentage either but I went there and wrote it down for future reference :)
